it would probably be the same as Kenny's retirement <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/G1ZMviEik3U&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/G1ZMviEik3U&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Look, I love Steve Francis as much as anyone. It is amazing the kinship the city of Houston, and Rocket fans have for him. He certainly has a cult following among the hard core Rocket fans. There are several reasons why, hard core Rocket fans love him to death. Francis gave our team hope during the dark years. However, you cant retire his jersey. The fact of the matter is that the Rockets accomplished nothing under his leadership. The same is true right now of McGrady, but that window is still open.
just tryin to see how deep the francis idolatry rabbit hole goes... pgab, you know my position on it. however, there are circumstances which could make this more plausible. what if he goes sam-i-am in the playoffs this year? hits a championship winning shot?

I really hope this thread is a joke. He will just end up one of the "notable players" on Wikipedia, if he isn't already.
No? Lol. What's with the Francis love affair lately? Greatest rocket team? Retiring his jersey? No, no, and no.
i think we shouldve retired all the main players of the back to back championship teams. Cassell Maxwell Elie Horry OT Bullard Brooks Herrera Kenny Smith Chilcutt CHARLES JONES
We are not retiring all those numbers from the 94 and 95 teams. We are not Boston. Just because you get issued a number doesn't mean you get to have your jersey retired. I like Steve, but we are not hanging his laundry up at Toyota Center. Maybe we can name an entrance to Toyota Center. Not the Main one on the corner of La Branch and Polk, but one on the other side. Like the one on Jackson and Bell St. Yes, Steve built Toyota Center and all brick by brick, but his game, and time in Houston is not worth putting up in the rafters.
