Exactly. The so called consistency just doesn't exist and it was obvious last night when you had the announcers basically mocking the inconsistency with which the league deals with flagrants.
Not often when it is as clear as a case like this. The most inconsistent in their reviews is when they upgrade something not even called a foul by the refs. We will know soon enough. The decision will be made today 100%.
So, if they don't upgrade it does that mean you will agree with me that they are not consistent at all and that basically the entire system is a broken, flawed, inconsistent and vague set of rules that are open to both interpretation and the whims of the league? I think it is entirely possible Dwight gets thrown out because he has a negative persona around the league. If however that same foul was committed by Lebron I have no doubt he would have gotten away without even a technical.
and that is why it won't be upgraded to a flagrant 2. There is no excuse for the officials to miss that call except that, for whatever reason, they have decided what Bogut did is ok. Howard may have inadvertantly forced the NBA to make sure that the officials start calling this garbage that Bogut and Green are calling defense in the post. Even if the media isn't calling it like it is, people can see the footage (over and over) and it's painfully obvious that Bogut flagrantly fouled Dwight and then held him. Dwight just put national attention on this nonsense.
I already agree with you my friend on that the way the league has double standards is ridiculous. I have seen some improvements in comparison with previous years but still.. So I agree that the implementation is incosistent. And the rules are on purpose not completely specific to leave loopholes so this incosistency can continue. However on what I don't agree with you, is that compared to the majority of previous instances such as this Dwight foul, according to the league, this is a clear flagrant two. If the league wanted to be consistent it would name it a flagrant two, and give Bogut a fine and a tech or flagrant one as well. Bogut is a very nice person off the court. He helps people and gives tickets to fans. He is really really nice, even though he always speaks his mind and doesn't conform. He's honest to a fault and you can trust him to be the one to give the less political correct answer if he believes it even though he knows it will piss others off. But on the court, which is how I form my taste of players, he is sneaky and dirty as hell.
You may have nailed it. I hope so, since it would mean that we have Dwight for the next game. I also hope that the rest of your post comes to pass. We'll see.
Dwight had similar incidents like this against Tyson and Deandre. And the league didn't do anything about it. So I don't believe they care about these players getting extra physical with Dwight Howard.
Question. If they upgrade it to Flagrant 2 AND suspend him like they did JR Smith, let's say for 1 game, does he still have to serve the mandatory suspension for having too many flagrants? In other words, would he have to miss two games?
This ****ing moron bill plashchke on around the horn says that it wasn't even related to the game, 2 guys are going for the rebound and Dwight just turns around and punches him in the face. Are you ****ing kidding me? Are these people required to even watch the footage of the things they are talking about. Wow. So irritating.
Well now I remember he's the moron who is still bitter that we took out the clippers. Whether this is a flagrant 1 or 2 is debatable but his take on the events is not within the realm of possibility.
I am not sure but I want to tell you that this is a outcome you don't have to worry about. He wont' get suspended like Jr did. Bogut wasnt injured.
You have to understand that most of these supposedly intelligent sports analyst does not like Dwight Howard.
Kornheiser says Bogut was the instigator and the antagonist but still calls it a viscous elbow. Which it wasn't. Then they both say if we lose this series it's on Harden after the game 2 miscue and game 3. They basically threw away his game yesterday. Not one of these shows has mentioned how dominant Harden was last night. **** I hate espn but I still watch it.
The way the media treats Dwight reminds me of this. Obscure reference few will get, Hell I don't even watch South Park very often.
