I don't like Dallas or Utah...

They should suspend Dirk for the season and hopefully ak47 is out long enough to pull utah out of the playoffs.

if you think otherwise maybe you should switch forums.. :p

Hey, if the league suspends Amare Stoudamire at a crucial time in the
playoffs for barely stepping away from the bench then Dirk should, without question, be suspended for this foul on Kirlenko. I agree that the league is too soft, but the rules are the rules, and if you allow p*****s like Dirk to go Karl Malone on players, then the league should at the same time not punish a player for retaliating with force when slammed to the ground.

A bad foul without intent is just being stupid. That deserves an ejection. If there's additional intent, that deserves an ejection and suspension. The refs blew the call. If there is a suspension here (and yes there should be only for consistency reasons in my opinion) then the refs clearly messed up by not ejecting Dirk.

While I don't think an unintended bad foul deserves suspension, I do believe the recklessness deserves ejection and that should be enough deterrent. It would be immediate action and it would be a defined and clear statement to any NBA player.

For me, intent makes it unsportsmanlike behavior. I'm very against that type of crap. Dampier should have been ejected and suspended. Horry should have been suspended for the series. Ainge should have been ejected and suspended for the playoffs...that punk. Kobe deserves soooo many more technicals for the cussing and b****ing and moaning and disrespect he shows the refs.

    So for me:
F2 = ejection (with further review for intent to determine suspension)

That foul was reminiscent of the foul Oakley put on Charles Barkley during a pre-season game at the summit. i believe it was Barkley's first year as a Rocket. of course Barkley sprung back up and let his fists fly. those are career ending type fouls though. i believe Oakley was suspended for two games. the rules weren't as soft back then. so the league has to be consistent with this.

    As much as i don't like Dirk - I don't think it was a flagrant 2.

He never grabs the guy and it appears that Dirk was really off balance and and was truly trying to swipe at the ball, he missed, fell over and his arm just was caught on AK

You can see that as Dirk is falling he's actually looking more about his own fall and trying to brace himself while keeping his arm stiff - something you do when you aren't trying to hurt another player. In fact, when he is finally free he is still holding his arm stiff palm open and holding up high - as if to avoid contact.

It looks like he was trying to get the ball, and foul intentionly if he didn't but the momentum of his fall plus the effort of the foul was enough to bring AK down and it looked worse then it was.

But the purpose of the flagrant fouls is to avoid causing injury - and in this case, AK got injured. And when a foul injuries a player - it has to be something.

So I say a flagrant 1 is the correct call - with a fine. But because the intent wasn't there - I'm not for a suspending Dirk.

It doesn't matter, they're 25-3 at home, we have little winning possibilities anyway.

They can win, but if they come in like "these are Dirk less Mavs" and with that kind of mentality they have even LESS chances.

    Dunno, I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I answered on the "will" premise. I think he should, but don't think he will.

That was a hard excessive unnessary foul. But I think he was just trying to prevent the basket, not to hurt AK47. So I would like to see him suspended, but I doubt he will be.

Second thought, screw it. Suspend him.

Hmmm... wishing injury on somebody simply because they play for a basketball club you aren't a fan of... maybe you should switch meds!
