pet peeve when the thread title and the poll question ask 2 different questions.. won't get the right responses cause some people respond to the thread title w/out rereading the poll question, assuming they're the same.

ANYway, I think he should be suspended based on the recent history of the league. Guys have been suspended for less inflammatory fouls.. plus he was going up around the head, which is always a no-no in the eyes of the league.

Will he? I think Stern needs Kidd and the Mavs to make the playoffs after that deal, so I think they'll find a way for Dirk to stay on.

The first shot, from under the goal - it doesn't really look like he did much to Kirilenko. He should have been able to keep his feet.

You guys are letting your hatred for Dirk make you forget what a bunch of flopping pansies Utah are. To me, it doesn't look like Dirk pulled him down on purpose - or even that Kirilenko should have fallen. From that? Come on.

If this had been Artest we all know what the result would be. Dirk gets a free pass cause for whatever reason.

You know, Greg Anthony made a comment concerning this. He said, that he knows for a fact that the league looks at a players history and takes that into consideration.

Watch the Rockets/Lakers game clip where Hakeem and Kupchak fight. It is in Tinman's thread about Cartwright breaking Hakeem's eye socket. Anyway, as they go at it Dream throws a BIG punch (that misses). Both benches empty and it looks like all hell is going to break loose. Once the refs restore order. One of the commentators says Dream and Kupchak should be allowed to keep playing because that is what usually happens. I thought that was awesome.

Regarding Dirk's foul. Suspend him for the sake of consistency. That was a very hard foul by today's standards.

For those of you who want Dirk to play just so a win against the Mavs will look better....we have a very harsh stretch of games coming up. There will be plenty "statement games" this month. We need every win we can get.

If we can keep this streak alive through the Dallas game we should be favored in the next 4. That's a 21 game win streak...2nd best of all time and just in time for a visit by the Lakers & C's.

I think he should be suspended, but it won't happen.

    I hope though...

If Dirk is indeed not suspended, then AK should go to the first reporter he sees and explain that he intends to do the same exact thing to Dirk and simply take the Flagrant-1 foul next time both teams meet.

Alternatively, Boozer can also explain to the press that if Dirk or any other Mav does anything similar to a teammate in future games that he truly "believes" that it will start an oncourt brawl.

Stern must be called out on his league-sanctioned double-standard officiating and disciplinary rules.......and the only real way to put him in his place is via media exposure.

I want to beat them with all of their weapons available. No excuses, so that I can call my Dallas loving brother in law and give him mad grief.

They actually scare me more without Dirk (for one game). That's all we need is for Dirk to be out so Kidd can take control and Josh Howard can feel like he needs to go off for 25-30 points.

Sure, I want to be as macho as the next guy by beating them at full strength but i'll take a Dirk suspension or any advantage I can get. I shouldn't have to remind any of you that this team owns us even when we're at full strength let alone minus Yao.

Dirk should play, I want the Rockets to beat the Mavs with no excuses. Also, that jerk Stackhouse deserves to get some pay back for that dunk he had against the Rockets in the last game the teams played. I hope the Rockets remember that game and beat the Mavs by double digits.

The Jazz fans should be used to seeing that kind of play having watched Karl Malone all those years.
