IMO Deke is on the team for security purposes more than anything. When looking at the NBA and more specifically our center Yao Ming, he and most centers are easily the most easily prone players on any team. Reason being is the sheer physical play that it requires to play that position. Another reason we keep Deke is for media purposes, come on, the guy makes the Rockets look really good. He speaks at schools, builds hospitals, and most of all he's a funny loving guy. Also he has the Veteran mindset, every winning team has that one player who although doesn't play too much, he does play a large role in the locker room in terms of keeping the spirits high.
