Mobley's personality is good for the team. He always appears to be upbeat and joking around. Plus Mobley is an excellant one on one player. He and Cato work well together on the isolation. Anyway, he is a proven six man. He would be a starter if he played a little defense and created a bit more on offense. Alexander was a terrific scorer in college at Fresno State, but that doesn't necessarily mean success in the NBA. I would rather go with the guy that has proven he can play in the NBA, Mobley.

As no one has seen Alexander play yet, to tell who will be the better long-term player is quite difficult. Personally, I unfortunatley think it will be Alexander. Dallas may have gotten one of the steals of the draft. Sure, Alexander may jack up bad shots, but that was college. IN college, sometimes you jack up a lot of bad shots, especially if you played on Fresno State. Alexander seems to have the ability to score kinda like a Ray Allen. HE is a relatively big 2 guard who is very athletic and, I too was extremely impressed by his candor and down-to-earth quality after being selected. I just like him flat out, girls name or not.

Of course, I like Mobley too, but as of now, he is solely a one-dimensional player too and he does jack up a lot of junk--why Rudy kept going to him in the end of games I dont know..he was a sparkplug, not necessarily a go to guy down the stretch. If we were going to be losing those games, Steve should have had at least a couple of cracks to win em at the end instead of Cuttino. DOn't get me wrong, I love the kid and really hope he resigns with us, but.....

my long term vote is for Alexander.

B.S B.S and more B.S. whinning about Alexander.

As much better as Alexander become over the Cat don't forget. Rockets sign Alexander they lose Mobley, don't get Collier, and don't get next year Bucks #1 pick.

Like I said, Alexander and Mobley comparisons are B.S. It's all about the team!!!!

Okay you GM and Scout talent evaluators. Alexander is the next Iverson. He wasn't drafted #1!!!!! He has the size was the leading scorer in the nation and he wasn't drafted number 1.

Iverson a short, ball hogging, freshman, with the bad rap about his hoodlem friends was drafted #1. Scouts and GM's were drooling over him.

I know one thing, you guys are a product of the media. Alexander is not close to as good as Iverson was, if he was he'd be drafted number 1. If Iverson was Alexander's size WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. He'd be head and shoulders better than Jordan.

Tough luck guys, you suck at talent evaluation!!!

Youre pretty bad at making comparisons too. Who the hell cares about Iverson? When did this become a comparison between Iverson and Alexander? Well, to use your crappy argument, CUttino was drafted in the second round, around 40 or so. If Iverson was drafted 1 and is head and shoulders above Alexander than Alexander should be amazingly better than Cuttino. We're a product of the media? How's that. The media actually likes Cuttino somewhat while theyre still blaming Alexander for mistakes he made like a decade ago. THe media isnt saying Alexander will be great...heck, they arent even really talkign about Alexander, theyre talking about MIles and Mihm and Martin and Fizer. A product of the media?@#@?$@#?#@?
    You suck at making comparisons.

I figured the Rockets would take Alexander @ 9 if he lasted that long & he did. I also figured that the Rockets would take him for 1 reason to deal him because out side of the 1st 5 guys taken they didn't care for the rest of the people in the top 15.

But they took Big Joel instead. Why? Because apparently they couldn't get a better offer for Alexander!!!

Now what does that tell me?? THAT ALEXANDER IS NOT & NEVER WILL BE A IVERSON COMPARISON! Just a thought. Another one is if the Rockets really felt that Alexander would be a better product for them than Cuttino then they would have taken him & said goodbye to Mobley.

    The key word being IF!

Hey Jay, I'm mistaken, you are the MAN. Oh yeah you pick all the good talent. Geez politcs is what keeps you out of the NBA front office.

All those GM's and Rudy (coach) know nothing about talent.

Alexander-Iverson comparisons are a barrel full of CRAP. Do you honestly think that Rudy would pass on a Jordan like player the calibur of Alexander if he was that good. Would you keep an Allen Houston and by pass M. Jordan.

Oh, but I'm mistaken, we're talking about Jay, the best talent evaluator. Mobley will likley make 3 all star games. But Alexander the Iverson clone ball hogging dude, who I may add has the size and plays the position where a player is asked to score will be a multiple MVP award winner.

Jay, face it you have no ground to stand on. Jay your falling and don't even realize it. Jay, but does it matter that you come complaining about the draft pick. NOOOOOOPE!! You've got no say so in who is drafted. All you will do is praise Rudy and say you always supported the move after the move proves successful.

Jay, just curious, were you on the Harold Minor bandwagon too. Don't you ever learn your lessons?

hey it's all in good fun, so don't take this to heart. Just making it interesting!!!!

Let this thread end now. At least your bickering, because we both know that I'm right!!!! [IMG]

    Vince-

Are you on crack or something?

First off, my name is JayZ, not Jay. Secondly, why are you so infatuated with saying my name so many times. Get off my ass man, you don't got to keep saying, Jay, Jay, Jay...damn. Just stop it.

Second, what the hell does politics have to do with anything? What the hell are you talking about? Your post was so out of nowhere that I really have no idea what is going on. Somebody started a topic that asked the BBS posters there take on a comparison bewteen MObley and Alexander. Nobody ever claimed to be scouts or talent evaluators--we just claimed to have an opinion on who would be better. POlitics keeps me out of the front office? What the hell are you talking about? Are you thinking of another JAy or something?

Also, I have no problem at all with RUdy's draft pick. What in the world does HArold Minor have to do with any of this?

The way I see it, I commented on your poor argument involving COurtney Alexander and somehow ALlen Iverson (When we should be talking about Cuttino), you didnt like it and preceded to smoke a bowl of crack and start talking about politics and HArold Minor and some guy named JAy?

Dude, put down the pipe and back away slowly!
