I think this is probably true. Though the agent would be remiss to not get an offer from a European club to strengthen his BATNA. His market value is messed up so much by his restricted free agency, so a Euro bid is a decent way to put a floor on what he's worth.

    Well,

Let's not forget that Basketball owners have these rules in place, agreed to by the players union for a reason!!! That is the restricted free agent --- Gilbert Arena basically caused all of this to happen. No fault to either, but players go for the money and the teams try to under pay.

But more harm than good is done to the League when players are overpaid - in NBA terms. The players will make 60% or so of the revenue. That's a given. So when one year wonders cut deep into that pie, that leaves less for the deserving players. And non competitive basketball hinders the view ability of certain NBA teams. Bad contracts hurt the league, the deserving players, etc.

Team have been burnt way too often by players who have one good season, and then become salary cap leaches for the next 5 seasons!!!

Obviously Landry isn't garnishing the interest the Agent and Landry had in mind.
