this is a really confusing poll question. i thought it was asking if he would "bust" again.

Gundy wasted a lot of talent because of his control issues.

"Cuttino Mobley Benched because of Sprain in Left Azz Cheek"

    Like what's that?

His success will be directly proportional to the number of pounds he manages to lose.

my point is, couldnt he figure out a way to utilize the black sheep? i think thats what championship coaches do, and i think bonzi would have made a big difference in our series against the jazz. who cares if he had a piss poor attitude - he could play and he would have been an option if implemented in the system.

There was a period at the beginning of the season where JVG simply wouldn't play Bonzi, but that ended by December. After that Bonzi got plenty of chances to prove himself, but he was never very effective and kept getting nagging injuries, certain to be related to his poor conditioning. In fact, near the end of the season JVG gave Bonzi yet another chance to play himself into the playoff rotation, and he did nothing, and vanished on the team. Honestly I don't think you can blame JVG for this one.

Bonzi ADMITTED turning down the contract was bothering him all the time (even if that's the case, he should never admit this, he should be saying "I'd like to help my team win", blah blah blah), and ESPN Mag attributed a quote to him saying that if the Rockets were paying 1/4 of what he was worth, he'd give the Rockets 1/4 effort.

You have to respect the coach. Bonzi was a ****** and it was his fault, not Gundy's. VG tried to play him but Bonzi couldn't cut it due to his being out of shape. You can't let the inmates run the asylum.

You think Bonzi would have guarded Boozer or Deron? No. Ergo, he does not make a big difference vs. the Jazz. VG should have adjusted his gameplan to defend the Jazz, that's true. But having Bonzi wouldn't have made much of a difference IMHO.

We'll see, but IMO he is a loser and will be out of the NBA before the year is up. Hope I'm wrong.

Had they not overhauled (Adelman specifically), Bonzi wouldnt even be here.

I do think Bonzi will contribute, if he would just throw that fat body around for some rebounds and hit some open shots, people here would throw a Bonzi parade. We could have Bonzi day, where everybody skips work for one year, lays around playing playstation and eating twinkies and pretends like you're not coming back to work ever because you hate your boss. And then everybody comes back and performs at normal level, and you seem like superman in comparison to what they expected from you before.

he played nine games, 5 of which he was good enough, mind you this is right when tracy went down against washington. jvg felt he had no choice.

then he got hurt and missed 10 games
played the next 8 games, right when tracy went down for a game and while yao was still out, and was effective in 5 games

i dont see how that is giving him plenty of chances when he continues to be shuffled in and out of the lineup at the mercy of jvg. We know jvg doesn't like to use his bench either.

i believe the blame goes 50/50 both ways.
What would happen if he has a good year? Would those numbers then shift towards jvg?

i finally figured out this coach hating board...whenever a guy plays well, its due to the player. whenever a guy doesnt play well, its due to the coach or his system. unless its skip juwan chuck luther. you guys bashed rudy at the end, jvg constantly, when will the board turn on coach a...whenever one of the posters pets doesnt play as much or at all or experiences any adversity whatsoever...we all know who to blame...the coach...is that what everyone does here when they have a problem...blame the boss

    its so predictable here now...

It isn't unique here. Every forum I read is tough on the coaches, except spursreport. They make fun of Pop but they don't bash him. Jazzfans rip Sloan. Lakersground shows little mercy on PJ. It's the nature of the beast. Hard core NBA fans love blaming coaches. Plus you always have a vocal group that will defend a player no matter what, like in the case of Bonzi. I don't think most people here fault JVG for all of Bonzi's problems, but the blame JVG for everything crowd combined with the pro-Fatzi brigade are loud enough here to make it seem that way.

i know...that is what is lacking in most boards...proper assignment of blame...its just silly.

I feel his attitude will be better but his game will be up and down because of missing so many games and to some extent because of age. I do feel he won't be overburdened, since Francis and James will take on additional scoring roles.
I think he will average around 8-10 points a game, and play 70 games or so.

Krispy Cream is not going to commit the same mistake and besides he wants to get paid well for the rest of his playing career. Lets go Bonzi!!

I just feel like this is a team that is being built for a deep playoff run. I will say this, with Adelman as the Head Coach now I dont see the same thing happening with Bonzi again. Plus I think Bonzi is looking to get paid next year so look for him to have a solid year this upcoming season, count on it.
