he has to tone down this athletic plays. it's fine to be athletic and wow the crowd, but some of the plays he "does" basically just asks for injuries. injuries can really derail anyone's career. however, if that won't be a problem, he can really be on his way. he's really talented and appears to have the passion for the game that most greats do.

As a Clipper fan, I'm enjoying Griffin; but I also do have skepticism that he can have a long career. I'm just enjoying this crappy Clipper team and Blake's amazing dunk, but I'm bracing myself for a potential injury --Knock on wood that it doesn't happen. On the bright side, the Clippers will probably get a top 4 pick this season and they will have the T-Wolves unprotected pick next season. So even if they lose Griffin, the Clippers will still be stocked with a lot of young talent to field a good roster...
Like others have said, Griffin plays way too angry and intensely. The way he conducts himself seems like every game is a game 7, and that rim must be killed whenever he dunks. Wowing the crowd is one thing; its another to have to crowd silent because you're down on the floor grabbing at your broken body part because you came down too hard. I don't think Del Negro (or the Clips training staff) cares. Hopefully Griffin can stay healthy long enough for him to get out of Clipper hell.
Man, that dunk looked painful with the way he bends away from the direction that his knee is traveling. He should have leaned forward and followed the momentum, even if he had to roll onto the floor. Since he is in LA, he can take some stuntman lessons from some of the best guys in Hollywood. If doesn't learn to land safely, at least he will learn to flop professionally. ;-)
Kid is a beast! wonder if he will ever be healthy to finish the season then I will say what I think bout his future
I remember Barkley mentioning when Allen Iverson first came in the league that at some point AI had to tone down his all-out athletic assault style and start playing more within himself with skill. Barkley started out his career with highlight reel athletic wreckless abandon also, but said the seasons are too long to sustain that every game throughout a career. People thought Barkley and the older players were trying to down-talk the upcoming young "hip hop" crowd from shining, or that Barkley was trying to justify not working hard, but he had a point.

But Oh Em Gee. A lot of posters on this board are misinformed. I watched a few clippers games (Don't ask why), the man has a legitimate post game. Ranging from hooks to the fade away jumper and occasionally extending his range. His main flaw which would keep from being an all-time player would be his lackadaisical approach to defense. He's poor on rotations and on man to man.
