yeah I dont think you have to worry about. Artest turning into another pippen. Because there two different players. Pippen is one of those guy(rusty lol) who wouldnt dare do anything to win us a championship. But Ronron is still in his prime.
I guess the question is would ron ron be happy in houston? 1. shots? nah, he will be our third option. after tmac and yao, would has the ability to take over games? This season tmac and yao will get plenty of rest, therefore artest will get his numbers. 2. popularity? ask artest when was the last time he got invited to an all-star? ask battier and scola who came so close to it where they can smell it. Thanks to the courtesy of Yao's supporters. 3. coaching staff. artest is getting his best beloved coach to coach him again. "Houston will win as far as artest can take us". (and as far as injury can stay away) My only concern is his extension or his contract. Ron Ron has already asked joked about his extension and this issue will rise again in the mid-season when things are going well. Which could have an impact on our post season run. Morey will have to deal with that. we do have cap rooms, as our 2010-2011 is wide open. will artest take a two years contract with second year being player option for what he gets pay now? Will morey start rebuilding the rockets with Yao as the core and try to lure Wade, James, CP3, or Bosh??? one of them will end up in a bigger market as they will be unhappy with their former team. James will probably end up in NY, I'm hoping that we can land Wade and then sign Tmac for veteran price.
I hope he goes Maxwell on us in terms of being a super hero, but the Rockets failing to give Maxwell his contract in 95 made him go beyond thunderdome. Hopefully the Rockets won't do this to Ron Ron cause I believe he's sensitive about things like contract extensions. 'we don't need another hero, we just want to find our way home (or past the 1st round)'
