Because Artest did it against the Bobcats makes your judgement of him a KNEE JERK REACTION........Matt Maloney hit shots too does that make him Clutch?

    AB and Ron are selfish.

McGrady is as relevant to this team and its playoff hopes as Matt Maloney. And don't get me wrong; I like Matt Maloney.

EDIT: Creepy that you just mentioned Maloney. I swear I came up with that on my own :)

The discussion however, is about whether Aaron Brooks and Ron Artest will shoot us out of the first round of the playoffs due to poor shot selection and an unwillingness to share the ball with teammates.

I think the answer, is no. Good teams adapt for the playoffs, and the Rockets' success depends on their ability to do the same. Adelman has a long history of getting teams to overachieve in the post-season, and at least a short history of getting the most out of Artest.

Not to be too much of a homer -- we simply don't have the talent that the Spurs and Lakers do, but I think we can afford ourselves a little faith in this team and the people running it.

I hope you are right but I really see Artest especially killing our playoff chances in one of the rounds with his poor shooting and I see AB being exposed for being short and not a playmaker, especially when it pertains to getting the ball to Yao.

Am ok with AB taking the last 3 pointer for us if he's open. But Ron needs to share the ball more in the 4th quarter when the game is tight. He feels like he's responsible to take that last shot to save the team and he just end up dribbling until there's few second left and jack up a ugly shot.

Artest needs to at least a pass of some sort.

first off i'd rather have brooks and artest shoot us out than t-mac going 7-21. t-mac is a volume shooter who shoots a terrible percentage. i'm so glad he's not here.

I'd rather have him and Lowry at the PG spot over Alston. We will be fine with them, we would have paid like crazy with Alston going 4 of 19 from the field in the playoffs.

I seem to remember Artest absolutely butchering San Antonio in the playoffs so we'll be fine. Artest and Brooks will be major assets for the Rockets in the playoffs. People need to get over McGrady and Alston not being here. We lost in the first round with both of those guys so, really, what are we losing?

Yao should be our first scoring option late in the game adn during the game!.. AB and Ron Ron jacking crap up should be our last option on scoring, I like Ron but it seems he is always trying to shot crazy shots he needs a better shot selection.......

At the end of the game, when we need a big shot, I feel a lot more comfortable about Aaron taking the shot than pretty much anybody else on the team (excluding Yao).

They might very well shoot us out of the first round, but they also might very well help get us out to the first round with their shooting.

The problem is not just Aaron's inconsistent shooting but the fact that he doesn't use his speed and quickness very well.

He just does not penetrate and break the down the opposing defense nearly enough, and the few times that he actually gets into the paint, he often doesn't finish the shot.

I think his inability to finish around the basket is not due to his height but rather his strength.

He just doesn't have enough mass to absorb contact and still finish strong. As of right now, his speed and quickness is not being put to much use.

I just hope that he will bulk up more over the summer.

I wouldn't say he is selfish. But, He just doesn't know how to control a game & doesn't know to pass a good ball.
