Maxwell's other notable fights with teammates that aren't his fault because we may not know why they got into a fight :

    1) Gary Payton was threatened with weights (oh yeah, but because we hate GP, it's ok, I forgot... lol). But... he was a teammate!

    2) Herbert Anderson : Max was accused of breaking a beer bottle over his head. Say it ain't so Max... but... I'm sure you'll change!

    3) Albert King : Max tried to strangle him with his jersey. Another case of everyone misunderstanding Max, of course!

Ignore these why don'tcha! What we need are more lyrics and pics as you dodge the obvious. :)

I don't hate simply because of association. Now if they had been equally as dumb as Max, then they would be hated as well! No blinders here! :D

And if you were a Maxwellian player, you'd be sitting at home vacationing for 2 weeks after lying to your team about having personal problems. Why? Because you're a GREAT TEAMMATE, of course!

Dude, I would jump across the street to the other side. Saying "hi" to Vernon Maxwell is like an open invite for a beating. Depending upon how his synapses are firing at that particular moment...

No, no, no... I believe all people are good until they prove they're consistently so bad, that they don't deserve to be called good. Maxwell has succeeded.

All you Vernon Maxwell haters refuse to recognize that all people including many former and current Houston Rockets had/have problems, but you don't see me or anybody else personally attacking or insluting them...Maxwell was no different, he was a human being just like the rest of us, but he possessed extraordinary skills and talents that provided us all with joy and happiness, whether you admit it or not....He's a champion and the bottom line is that nobody can take that away from him.

im not dodging any of this.

you pick a fight with vernon or tick him off, then you beat down!

he was bruce banner until you tick him off.

now what? am i suppose to change my feelings about max since you told me crap i already knew?
I know max wasnt perfect, but none of us are.

it must hurt you guys when max gets props on tv. i've changed the rules of the game here, posting pictures, dropping lyrics, adding creativity and at the same time educating the rest of Clutchfans.

not everyone watched the Rockets back then, I understand that. Despite a bunch of different personalities and ethnicities, religions, the Rockets did it.

They did with people who arent perfect. real people. That's why that team is so close to my heart.

Being a Rockets fan for me doesnt stop on the court, I'm rooting for them to win in life. Sometimes they are down 0-2 in America West Arena, but I wont give up hope, cause I BELIEVE IN CLUTCH CITY!

(Gladly give you some more lyrics!)
No matter how hard I try

    You keep pushing me aside

    And I can't break through

    There's no talking to you

    So sad that you're leaving

    Takes time to believe it

But after all is said and done

You're going to be the lonely one, Ohh Oh

    [CHORUS:]

Do you believe in life after love

I can feel something inside me say

    I really don't think you're strong enough,

    No

Do you believe in life after love

I can feel something inside me say

    I really don't think you're strong enough,

    No

What am I supposed to do

Sit around and wait for you

    And I can't do that

    There's no turning back

I need time to move on

I need love to feel strong

'Cause I've had time to think it through

And maybe I'm too good for you Ohh Oh

    [CHORUS]

But I know that I'll get through this

'Cause I know that I am strong

    I don't need you anymore

Oh I don't need you anymore I don't need you anymore

No I don't need you anymore

So personal attacks on Vernon Maxwell are wrong, but him PHYSICALLY attacking people (teammates!!) and being a deadbeat should be overlooked because "everybody has problems". Nice! :D

Man, how many times are you guys going to get owned in this thread? Lyrics won't save you now... the hypocrisy is running rampant!! RAMPANT!!

According to Sam I Am himself, Vernon helped make him into the player who we've all enjoyed for over a decade, the player responsible for working a miracle in the playoffs this year with the Clippers:

"Playing with guys like Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Vernon Maxwell, Mario Elie and Kenny Smith really instilled a lot of toughness in me for this game of basketball," Cassell said. "They refused to baby me or let me be a baby. The first day of training camp, they went at me. At first, I thought they didn't like me. But after training camp, Vernon sat me down and told me why they went at me so hard. He said, We are going to need you, man. So why not get tested early instead of late.' This will make you tough."

you are getting owned! i feel like a real estate investor against you guys. I dont even need money down against you guys!
your arguments are weak, he is still loved by his Rocket teammates and his leaving the team wasnt that big of a deal because all nba players leave teams to new ones.
its a foreclosure that you guys have no love for the one who started CLUTCH CITY!

"Madmax, I served with Muhammad Ali, I knew Malcom X, Nelson Mandela was a friend of mine. Madmax, you are no Muhammad Ali, Malcom X or Nelson Mandela."

You gotta link to your myspace page in your profile here

Maxwell had qualities and characteristics that were similar to the individuals mentioned above. He was a leader and battled against racism and xenophobia like Malcolm X. He's also a champion like Ali. Last, he's falsely imprisoned like Nelson Mandela was for over 20 years.

all i hear from you is hatred.

A friend of mine called HISTORY
    wants to tell you something

Down by 12 points at halftime in Game 3 of the 1994 Western Conference Semifinals, Vernon Maxwell turned the Rockets into road warriors. After losing the first two games of the series to the Suns at home, Maxwell made sure Houston wouldn't go down 0-3 in Phoenix by scoring 31 second-half points to lead the Rockets to a 118-102 win.

    You run, run...run away
    It's your heart...that you betray
    Feeding on...your hungry eyes
I bet you're not so civilized

    Well, isn't love..primitive
A wild gift...that you wanna give
    Break out of captivity
And follow me, stereo jungle child
Love is the kill.....your heart's still wild

    Chorus:
Shootin' at the walls of heartache, bang, bang, I am the warrior
Well I am the warrior, and heart to heart you'll win..if you survive
    the warrior....the warrior

You talk, talk, you talk to me
    Your eyes touch me physically
Stay with me, we'll take the night
    As passion takes another bite

    Who's the hunter...who's the game?
I feel the beat...call your name
    I hold you close...in victory
Idon't wanna tame your animal style..
you won't be caged...in the call of the wild....

    Repeat Chorus

Shootin' at the walls of heartache (shootin' at the walls of heartache)
    The warrior.....
I am the warrior, and heart to heart you'll win
heart to heart you'll win...if you survive
    The warrior...the warrior

shootin' at the walls of heartache, bang, bang, I am the warrior
yes I am the warrior and victory is mine
    The warrior...the warrior

my friends, let me tell you a tale
about a team that refused to fail
    heading to phoenix down 0-2
labeled as the choke city crew
in the 2nd half, max resurrected the team from the dead
as the souls of the phoenix suns slowly bled
as he kept on making 3 after 3
he forged an unbreakable bond with dream, mario, kenny, sam, and rudy t
it was raining 3s all night
as max was showing his determination and fight
his performance is something that we all admire
as helped the rockets extinguish the suns fire
the rockets became clutch and won the title
with the play of mad max always being vital
you can hate on him, throw insults, and bash
but vernon maxwell will always rise like a phoenix from the ash
