He also killed his trade value with the stunt. Some draft picks would've dulled the pain of that season after 95.
hurt your feelings did i? get a tissue to dry your eye? i'm the real fan you're just the bitter beer face man Maxwell's place in Rocket's history you are trying to abort I went Robert Horry's Katrina Benefit and met Otis Thorpe I told him the story about my Rocket's loyalty since the early days of Dream always remember Sampson's shot over Kareem I told his team had heart in 1994-1993 when him and Vernon and the rest formed Clutch City test my Rockets loyalty is act of desperation having to use curse words here? you must have constapation you think i'm one person im always here it seems i'm really a spirit and heart of players sam, vernon, otis, kenny, mario and hakeem! you're not a real rockets fan fakerocketfan95 we are, clutchfans we keep the legacy alive does it disturb thee? that we defend maxwell, sampson and calvin murphy im destroying your rep you're the one that needs to step writing about our heroes, stop and listen to you whine? I'LL NEVER STOP DEFENDING CLUTCHCITY TIL THE END OF TIME.
Never apologize for talking about heroes that open our eyes and our hearts he was clutch, he wasnt john starks Clutch City, this place would never be if gene peterson did yell "MAXWELL...FOR 3!"
maxwell was the best the rockets should have gone after ron artest defense and tanacity is what the team needs today instead we're in the lottery hoping to get rudy gay
You're embarassing yourself. I'm enjoying this. Thanks for making my Friday that much better, Clipper(i.e. Quitter)Fan.
Phoenixfan95 you're doing me favor keeping this thread alive forever let people know about a great legend a hero a player from rockets past his legacy will last as the one that started this clutchfans thing if people insult him, he'll swing no one else dared to attack cause he was the best he was yesteryears ron artest i watched the clippers playoff run Sam I-AM is still a rocket hero he's still playing and having fun i'm a true nba fan not like youself im watching TNT, ESPN while you eat cookies from the Keebler Elf. Its amazing you just hate someone cause they left the team lots of players did so do u hate mario, robert, sam and hakeem i guess you do since loyalty is something you have no clue hate a person for 12 years you're an embarassment among your peers you still cant explain why kenny, sam, and mario still love max just the same as they did when they were youths VERNON MAXWELL STARTED CLUTCHCITY. ITS THE TRUTH
Thanks again, man. If you can't tell the difference between leaving the team via trade and free agency, you're the moron we all know you are. Vernon=quitter. And you support quitters. Kudos you you, QuitterFan.
I think Kenny, Mario, Hakeem, Otis, Amigo, Horry, Rudy, and Sam would love tinman and slap you, RM95.
Maybe. Who knows. Maxwell's probably taken the opportunity to apologize to those players/coaches he quit on. If he'd apologize to the fans, I'd forgive (forgive in the sports sense of the word, there's nothing to *really* forgive). But, he hasn't. All I remember is him quitting on the team when they needed him the most. He's a quitter. Just like Pippen.
You don't remember the first championship? Remember, without him there is no Clutch City, there's only Choke City. That's why they forgive him. Pippen gave us Kelvin Cato, Vernon a championship, see the difference? You would probably have a point if the Rockets didn't win that second championship...
So, quitting on a team is OK as long as you've done something for that team in the past? Or quitting on the team is OK because it didn't really affect them in the short-term? We have pretty different ethical standards. And please, pretty please quit acting that the Quitter was the only reason they won that championship. He was a huge part of that, but he wasn't the only reason.
Pippen also talked badly about Barkley. I couldnt forgive him for that. Plus Barkley played for nothing so that Pippen can sign a max contract. I was courtside in the Compaq Center vs Pippen and the Blazers back in the day. Oh he heard me. It was well worth paying the $$$ for those seats! he heard me and 5 of my die hard Rocket posse.
I disagree with tinman, so I must be angry. That's the argument of a guy who has none. Have a great weekend, QuitterFan. Enjoy the Mavs v. Suns. Bwahahahaha.
i dont know what argument yo are talking about? I know you are enjoying the Suns, you've wanted to win since Barkley started 'Butt kicking company' good luck with your team, I_love_dannyaingeFan!
Cohen, this isnt the scottie pippen thread. its about a hero named vernon get it through your head he brought glory he started this clutch city story because he didnt leave in the setting sun doesnt mean we forgot all the fun we had with him, so give him praise when lakers fans think of magic they dont think of aids when jordan retire #23 they didnt think of wizards of dc you guys are haters and you hate harder you probably thought hakeem was the guy who played with vince carter
all this hate directed towards vernon the hearts of the haters must be burnin' those who know him well continually praise him his clutch actions were something that are still amazin' he resurrected a team from the bowels of choke city his game winning shots were so damn pretty a man who overcame adversity every step of the way to lead the Rockets to championships we still celebrate today
The fire that made Max a great defender and his lack of fear that allowed him to go right at Jordan, caused him some problems when applied to his personal life. I met him once at Fat Tuesday's and he seemed like a nice guy. Max wouldn't be the first person in the world born with a quick fuse and lacking good judgement in the heat of the moment. He bought my friend and I a drink and flirted with our other friend's sister-in-law. We didn't know Max was married at the time. I'd say this was around 1993. From what I remember Max married very young, probably well before his NBA career. Probably a good reminder for those considering an early marriage. Have you had all of your fun yet? Did Max walking away hurt the Rockets in 95 or did it allow them to come together as a real team and win it all? I'm happy with the way things turned out and I hope Mad Max is doing well somewhere in this world.
Tinman and creepyFloyd, dont listen to these haters they think Bonds takes steroids and they are big fans of the Fakers Vernon was great he wasn't no quitter so everybody can hate and our love for him will be bigger Cohen and RocketsMan, stop that hatin u cant beat Floyd and Tinman and being rockets fans, y'all are just fakin..
