This is definitely working. The awareness of SOPA is increasing. Good work by wikipedia and other websites.
Tim Holden, another co-sponsor, has... but I don't see him withdrawing support for PIPA, which he should do as well. Rubio, at least, doesn't sponsor either SOPA or PIPA, which is good.
apparently, canihazcheeseburger.com is also shutting down to protest SOPA. what am i gonna do without canihazcheeseburger.com for a day?
The real question is, how will this effect my free internet p*rn? I already have LA trying to make the videos I watch involve condoms.
I thought it was stupid to shut down the 6th most popular service in the US for 24 hours. Once I read up about it I changed my mind. So STFU! Like I posted 5 years ago, the golden age of the internet is going to end soon. The last thing I want is censorship. I pay my ISP to provide me with the uncensored internet. Now if this will get me faster speeds for severely reduced prices then I might change my mind. And I want more options than just Comcast and AT&T in my area. I doubt the ISPs would swing for any of this though.
I care about the stability of the internet and my security first and foremost. I don't want the police banging on my door because someone was able to access my WiFi and downloaded 12 seasons of The Office. So don't roll your eyes at me. Looks like Obama is against this.

I think Google wouldn't have done it Wiki didn't start it. Nobody wants to be a target. It looks like both Google and Wiki are done raising the awareness of SOPA. Good job.
wait, Are you for SOPA or against it ? Earlier, it sounded like you were for it with that talk on how you didn't want cops knocking on your door, but now you applaud google and Wikipedia for raising awareness ?
damn, am i going to have to take everything i have on youtube down? i just have some concert footage, and me shooting hoops.
It wasn't shut down completely. If you really needed to look something up that bad, you could of used plenty of alternate methods. Like turning off javascript, or using any mobile app on a smartphone, or viewing the cached page on Google, etc. Also, in regards to your comment about someone getting on to your wi-fi. you control access to your network, you have the power to determine what goes in and out of your network. If this is something you don't know how to do, well unfortunately that sounds like a personal problem, but at least currently, you have the power to look up that knowledge on the internet.
