i'm not so convinced this wikileaks is even legit. sounds like a lot of disinformation, repeating old news and then conveniently lacing it up with anti-iran/china/russia/NK/etc tidbits in between

Iran blames U.S. for leaks, "mischief"
Says relationship with its neighbors is just fine
    BY ASSOCIATED PRESS

Iran's president says leaked American diplomatic cables recounting Arab calls for the U.S. to launch a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities were intended to stir "mischief."

According to the cables released Sunday by online whistle-blower Wikileaks, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia repeatedly urged the United States to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear program to stop Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

"We don't give any value to these documents," Ahmadinejad told a news conference "It's without legal value. Iran and regional states are friends. Such acts of mischief have no impact on relations between nations."

Ahmadinejad alleged the leaks were an "organized" effort by the U.S. to stir trouble between Iran and Arab neighbors.

An interesting accusation given that the state department has not made that claim, and in light that the last two releases were admitted as legit by the Pentagon.

If our government can engage in warrantless wiretapping then why can't we see leaked information?

Also, the government always uses the "americans will be put in danger" line when the leaks come out, then quietly retract that line months later. How many innocent foreign civillians die each year from secret bombing programs that our government engages in? I feel like we as citizens have the right to know that our country does this stuff. Weather you agree with it or not is up to you.

They almost say them at the same time, it seems.

    "Wikileaks is endangering everything!"
"Nothing to see here really, move along."

Comical, except that it seems to work on a good portion of the population.

Awesome, just awesome. News outlets around the world will see things differently starting tomorrow. Some friendships will be ruffled, and new ones will pop up. Just a small earth quake in the political world.

If you are a person who works in a place where communication is top secret and confidential, you know that the "this is dangerous" claim is bull****. Every single person speaking and writing these cables has been trained to speak in such a manner that, if it is ever revealed, there is nothing embarrassing inside. Every infringement of that rule is their own problem.

There is basically nothing in these documents that harms US security, though there is stuff which embarrasses the US politically speaking.

I can see how you could consider it in your cause's interest to have stuff out there that "embarrasses the US".

Next, let's leak some confidential internal files from Arabian governments.

LOL!! You're so prejudiced seriously, it's hilarious.

Btw, if you had read them, you would see that many Arabian governments are a big part of this leak. But ofcourse, once again, like every other time, you made up your mind before studying all the evidence.

Do you have a cite for that? I have not followed the aftermath of the previous leaks very much but one article I read stated that no deaths could be traced to the previous leak. I don't recall what article it was and it may have been wrong, but that is my recollection at least.

Yeah, funny how this Assange cat only wants to embarrass America. I wish someone would fire a bullet into the rapist's head. And Bradley Manning should be lined up against a wall immediately.
