Japanese trailer for Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. I don't think I would get this game unless they added assloads of new content. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="409"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=18567"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=18567" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="409"></embed> </object>
The reviews came out after the hype would have been dying down anyway, since the game was released prior to all that IIRC. Had reviews for Halo 2 been negative, it wouldn't have mattered since the hype alone created over 2M in sales for the game (same could be said about other games as well of course given the nature of the industry). All the ads, the spotlight at major events, the genre for the game (FPS game for the Wii), etc., created some decent hype for the game, far more than the majority of launch titles for the Wii (probably higher than all, except for possibly Wii Sports IIRC). As I already said, I believe it was in the majority of bundles that retailers forced (and probably part of bundles where customers had to pick 5 games...even with RS getting bad reviews, there wasn't much else to pick anyway). And that's assuming reviews even have that much influence on sales for a game. If that was the case, several games (some even on the Wii) would not have sold nearly as well as they did (see Killzone, FF7: DoC, etc.), and some games would have sold FAR better than they did (SOTC, Okami, Trauma Center, etc.). For GC owners, I believe it has all the extras from the PS2 version, plus some other things (can use the controls with a knife IIRC). BTW, why couldn't you post that in the Random Video Game Media thread? edit: Oops. I thought I had a link to that thread in my signature already. I'm sure that might have helped.
