    How long did it work?

    Because the cable lines don't reach the planes out over the ocean. :)

    Seriously. The satellites are over land, where the cities are. Those satellites are in geosynchronous orbit, requiring dishes aimed right at them. Neither the dish nor the satellite is moving.

    Carnival is a client of mine. Their IT explains the same thing, and they are moving much slower, and have a better chance at keeping their dish tracking a communications satellite.

    It worked very well for me on EK earlier this year.

    Surprisingly it worked well the entire flight from LAX to KOA. Plus, they had not updated their pricing tier so it was free.
