No, actually they died because GWB thought that cutting brush in Crawford was more important than my security.
(whoops, josh already beat me) I love ignorant comments like this. Ironically, the same amount of innocent (as opposed to those who chose to goto war) americans died on 9/11 because of those who voted Democrat in 1996. Technically, you could blame the 2800 service men on the democrats, because if they took care of business, neither these large groups would be dead. But of course, this is all assumption.
So you blame dems for 9/11? That's questionable at best. But clearly - Bush is responsible for those soldiers who die in Iraq - the unneccessary war. I didn't blame him for the ones in Afganistan mind you.
Who was President in 2001? Whose administration put terrorism in the back burner and ignored all the warnings? Who got a memo that said "Bin Laden determined to strike in US" then went on vacation while his staff blew off meetings and decided to build missile shields?
I'm so glad I don't look at life as you do. That I don't live in fear. You go right ahead and be afraid. I'll be brave for both of us. Keep D&D Civil.
Until I can do it online or over the phone it ain't happenin. Although I once spent 3 or 4 hours waiting for online customer service with H&R Block, on a Saturday in January, so I can't imagine a 150,000,000 person online voting queue would be much of a picnic, from either a customer or IT support perspective. Of course I guess that means "I don't have right to complain" afterwards, First Amendment, crappy choices and paying their salaries notwithstanding.
Like I said, better to vote republican then not vote at all. Better to vote democrat then republican though. Regardless - the message to Bush on Tuesday will be that his monumental failure of a presidency will be now lame-duck status. Of course, Bush will find a way to spin it as a victory. I'm sure he'll stay the course more then ever. Let's hope that we can get back on track in the war on terror now that the Dems are going to get back at least one house.
The ghost of Calvin Coolidge is watching me? Well, I sure hope he got an eyeful Saturday night and Sunday morning!! I think I might have put some starch in his bowtie!
How about voting republican if your ideals of government are more in line with the Republicans. It's real simple.
My ideals of government are very close to the stated ideals of government of the Republican Party. Unfortunately, since the Republicans lost Newt, their policies couldn't have been further away from their stated ideals. We've got one big government Socialist Party calling the other party a big government Socialist Party. It's time to gut Congress of as many Progressives as possible, regardless of the letter behind their name.
all the reasons I was a Republican now don't seem true anymore: Less Government Less Spending . . . . I've come over to the dark side.
What do you think a Republican President would have done differently? Let's look at the U.S. response to the Cole bombing. Under the democrat who had only 35 days after the bombing, he came up with the plan to give to his successor. The successor who was a Republicn did nothing for 8 1/2 months. Even after 9/11 the current Sec. of State appointed by the Republican said this: So we have someone from the administration who is a Republican in a Republican administration saying that it was best not to respond to the Cole. What makes you think they would have done something earlier to stop 9/11 from happening.
