i disagree completely, yao is one of the best screeners in the nba after malone (shudder). the guy is massive and his picks are solid. If you've ever seen a shaq screen, the guy is lackadaisical and doesnt really try too hard. yao is just the opposite. why they don't do more pick and rolls is beyond me, if they did that at 15 feet, thats an automatic 8 points for yao and 4 assists for steve or whoever is giving it back/

Hypocrisy??? ROFL you're searching for meaning about character on a freaking MESSAGEBOARD? If you actually think you can gain any sort of self-worth from posting on a messageboard or that you'll be respected by your peers then you're in need of serious help. I don't think anyone is keeping score or going to be running for public office from this messageboard community. lol.

Big deal. In the end "I win" because I will know that there are people out there on this board who are going to bookmark and log each of my posts looking for something to nit-pick like it actually hurts me or means something.

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

No, this is what you said:

"I stopped watching the rockets and watching the box scores because it's obvious the rockets can't compete with the rest of the western conference."

So lets see, in your last two threads, we have now been able to establish the following:

    a) You are a liar
    b) You say things just to get attention
    c) You are a troll
    d) You go on and on about how the Rockets wont make the playoffs, yet, would never put your money, or your sig, where your mouth is.

Hey everyone!!! Did you hear that loud sound???

That was Silentfan's respectability level crashing and burning.

    a) Call them a homosexual
    or
    b) Refer to their post count
    or
    c) Lie about lying

I already took the high road, you and codell keep coming back with "I GOT YOU LOOK LOOK I GOT YOU"

If anything you guys are the 15 year olds. I'm just embarassing you for showing so much darn effort in trying to prove something that is meaningless. In the end of the day who is really goin to care about me saying I stopped watching the Rockets last week? Besides you guys, I mean.

Coming onto my thread about a legitimate rocket basketball issue just to flame me was pretty immature and that's all i'm going to say on the matter. I guess it's time to start another thread since this one got thrown way off track.

Why are people blaming JVG for Yao setting screens? That's ALL he did in his lost Tomjanovich season. At least now he's got a reasonable shot at getting the ball on the roll which I don't recall him doing last year.

But like the "Free Yao Ming!" article suggests, I think that setting these picks should be a part of Yao's expanded, creative and ground-breaking arsenal. I'm just waiting for Yao and the rest of the team and coaching staff to put it all together. That would be exciting. A dominant Yao deep in the paint. A soft-touch shooting Yao stepping behind the 3-point arc after setting a pick and draining the trey. Yao driving on an opponent. Let's see all the weapons.

I like him setting screens as long as he gets it back and gets to pop a set-shot. That's better than letting undersized guards drive into the trees shooting an acrobatic off-balanced shot.

If an effective screen counts as an assist, Yao would have got close to 10 assists tonight. Just name a couple of examples, Pike's 3 and SF's dunk.

silentfan, maybe you werent specifically one of those fans, after the last lakers game, PLEADING, PRODDING, and BESEECHING JVG to run more high screens with Yao, but the fact remains, that Yao burned Shaq shooting the outside jumpshot. There was an uproar on this board, begging JVG to do this more.

During the time of the notorious "freeze-out," and during Shaq's foul trouble it was semi-reasonable to force Shaq to guard the pick-n-roll suggesting that he would not be aggressive on the step out to impede the guards, and sag back to his comfort zone and away from Yao. JVG rolled the dice on lost, however, take in regard that during that 13-0 run by the Lakers, it was more of a defensive lapse than anything. Walton's 3's, Shaq's and1 dunk, etc etc.

He supposedly stopped caring and declared the season over back at the end of November. But that certainly hasn't stopped him from starting 22 threads since, mostly about bashing some aspect of the Rockets.

Probably not 15, but hes a classic knee jerk troll. All one has to do is go look at his thread history.

Then tell that to Kobe. He was driving the lane and got STOOD UP by Yao, losing the ball in the process. If the Rockets did recover the ball it would have been charging on Kobe while he basically got knocked off his feet.
