You obviuosly must have watched the game with your eyes closed. Yao missed his first 4 shot attemptes. After that Yao was clearly doubled or the zone defense callasped on him so quickly. We lost because of bonehead plays from out point guards and our ineffectiveness to get Yao Ming the ball late in the game. Yao Ming sucked yeah...but our guards sucked even more...
My 2 cents, The gaurds have more faith in their ability to shoot or score off the dribble than they have in their ability to get the ball to Yao and for him to score. When I watch Yao he does not look strong on the blocks. He's missed shots, given up position, had turnovers and probably helped reinforce the guards reluctance to to pass to him by this sort of play. Even when he does score its with finesse moves many time made when a power move was the better choice. This is vicious circle that needs to be broken.
Mind boggling. I didnt read the thread but just the first post is indictative of every rocket fans ignorance. Ming DOES get the ball. Repeat. Ming DOES get the ball. Quit bashing the guards for Mings lack of handle and motivation to drive to the hole with authority. Again, watch Amare, then watch Ming and maybe, just maybe you to might be able to understand why its Mings fault. Yao only fans are thinking Ming is god and cant do no wrong . Quit blaming other rocket players and try blaming your god Ming for once. Ming gets the ball PLENTY,actually almost every play he touches it. But his robot body cant do anything with it because he is a stiff.
how about not blaming any of the players? they all have areas to work on, as a team, and on their own. we're improving. we might not be great this year, but we're getting there.
"how about not blaming any of the players? they all have areas to work on, as a team, and on their own. we're improving. we might not be great this year, but we're getting there." Agree, unless players have shown they won't come tother, or are so slow in coming together that bringing in someone new is a quicker fix. My opinion, this season will answer those two questions. We have no reason at this time, barring unforseen injuries, not to make the playoffs. If we don't It's going to be the players changing because we already changed the coach.
