You don't understand. Chicago has to have every position 3 players deep, because they lose half their starters every year to bad trades, accidents, or just plain disgust. Plus, do you really think Chicago wants to win? They've got Clipper-ball down to a science. They sell-out every night with one of the lowest payrolls in the league. Just keep generating hype with top picks every year, and then two or three years later screw yourself in trade or otherwise. It's a vicious cycle.
It was a real good move by the Bulls. If they keep him or not its better then picking deng at #3 which most people thought they would do, they ended up picking him at #7 and Gordon wouldnt have lasted that long.
I kinda think a Hinrich-Gordon back-court could be really tough. Think Mobley-Francis without quite Francis phenom athleticsm but with better court sense. If I were them I'd trade Crawford. Duhan was a mid 2nd pick where you just hope somebody you find belongs in the NBA. If he become a 10MPG back-up 1 in this league that was a good pick.
I bet a lot of people said the same thing 20 years ago. Reggie Theus averaged 24 ppg and 6 apg playing shooting guard for the 1982-83 Chicago Bulls but they still went ahead and picked Jordan. I'm not saying Ben = Michael but sometimes you have to take the best player available regardless of position.
3-man gurd rotation is a possibility, but they won't win by adding two mroe rookies and no more veterans.
