Why would so-called only fans propose a max for Yao?

You are not only contridcting yourself, you also make so many assumptions and make it sounds like it already happened.

Why should I respect that coaches' decsion when it obvisouly not working and Rockets lost playoff chance?
Were you as a "Rocket fan" rooting for a winning cocah or a losing coach?
And what does Smith's poor coaching have anyting to do with my disrespcet of him? Did I by any means changed how he was coaching?

You don't even respect a current Rocket Yao who has worked his ass off for Rocket, so what on earth do you have the right to accuse me not respect past Rockets players?

Why do you make an assumption Lakers fans won't be mad at Kirt Ramis? Go to Lakers forum, many of them are often mad at Phil Jackson for not playing certain players, for example, not playing Farmar more over Fisher.

I don't necessary disagree if Yao played more the team would still suck, but since it was sucking, it didn't hurt to play him more as a rookie, either as development, or something better might happen.

There are many fans who care about Rox in different ways, but you seems to think your way is the only way.

Les and DM have to show him a sincere proposal and clear plan. Something like, Yao, I know you might be 17 somewhere else, but if you could help us to get more talent, would you consider a 13 million per year deal? We plan to get A and B those 2 all stars with the money you saved and TMac's contract. If that plan doesn't work, we can get all star A or B, and C and D young promising aspects. Do you think we can challenge a title then? I think Yao would probably sign.

But, if Les goes to Yao, to say the standard party line - we will build around you. We know Andris Biedrins gets 9 million each year, for the next 5 years. We also know you might get a max elsewhere. But look, we all love you, and you love us, would you sign a 8 million contract. We will consider getting quality players, if all situations are right, and the price is right. Yao would probably say, I still love you, but I don't see your love. It's about money and term, but it also about feasibility and planning, and respect.

I'm not angry at all. I don't get mad so I know what i'm talking about.
Why is a ROF so much better than a YOF? Different people have different views, why do you want to make an enemy out of them?

As long as Yao is a Rocket, YOF and ROF have the same goal, rooting for Rockets to win. If Yao retires as a Rocket, I believe many YOFs will become ROFs as well.

what's considered 'max'? i'm not talking about 8 years 200 million contract here. but it can't be less than 10 million a year. more along the line of what he is getting right now. not much raise, but no cut either. no one is expecting him to make more than 20 mil a year like the certain other player.

Maybe we should have a separate forum for all the Yao threads. That's what Clutch did creating D&D when the mud-slinging political threads in Hangout got out of hand.

Always mention Hakeem when Yao fans are talking about Yao.

We know Hakeem is the greatest Rocket player ever, but why do you keep bring up Hakeem as if YOFs did anyting wrong when they love Yao more than Hakeem?

I felt this is some what a disrespect for Yao, and that's why I replied for that post.

When you accuse other people, you never look at youself.

    1. I put a smiley face at the end , to indicate a joke

    2. I was joking to the Yao Only Fans, NOT YAO.

    Are you Yao? No.

The many = the Rockets, the Rockets have many players
The one or the few = Yao, one player

And how do you know If I'm American? why do you guys always talk politics?
How do you know if I'm not a Mexican? or even worse how do you know if I'm not living in China right next to you sitting at the Internet cafe sipping tea right now?

This is why YOFs < ROFs. We only talk about basketball and team.

    1. OK, I didn't get the joke. If that's the case, my bad.

    2. I'm not Yao, you're Larry Smith either. So please don't get upset when I said I see nothing wrong with YOFs rooting for Yao.

    Many can be fans too.
I don't care if you are american or not. I mentioned people in US, not you. You can be American, or you can be something else.

You keep making assupmtions which is not true, then you get the conclusion ROf>YOF. How ironic is that.

    What?

That's the definition of YOFs, if Yaos don't root for Yao, then they wouldn't be YOFs.

If they start rooting for Orlando Magic games back in the day when they suck,
    then they would be TOFs.

I know I'm not Larry Smith, I don't want people hating me for doing my job the best way I can. I don't want to be #1 Yao Hater as Larry was labeled for..

    BEING HIS COACH.

Larry Smith didn't have to apologize for anything. For Yao's entire career, I think the few games Larry was coach and Yao didn't play didn't mean anything.

At the very best, Yao DIDN'T GET HURT that year.

If the Rockets would have kept Najera instead of trading him for Langhi, then we would have a fun time dealing with NOFs and YOFs

Why are you mentioning people in the US or China? This is about clutchfans and the Rockets.

Yes Rocket Only Fans are the best people here.

My example is that the greatest YOF of all time, Pryuen. I like that guy.
    But he left.

    Rocket Only Fans don't quit.

Look at Clutch, he'll never leave. Rocket Only Fan. Tell me a Yao Only Fan who will stay here forever.
