Why would Minnesota trade Kevin Love for Parsons, Lin, and a late first round pick?

Because Thompson was pulled from that list. Take him out of the equation and it becomes not too good a proposition from the Warriors. Plus Love's going to walk for nothing.

If we're giving up Parsons, then the salary dump ought to be Brewer rather than Kevin Martin. Martin to me would only be included if we are keeping Parsons IMO.

    S&T Parsons + TJones + Lin + NO 1st
    FOR
    Love + Brewer

Then you still have the full MLE and Bi-annual exception to fill the holes as well as own 2015 first. The 3&D wing that you would probably use all of the MLE on would likely be a better fit than Parsons anyway (Deng, PJ Tucker, Trevor Ariza, Sefolosha, Marion).

    Final Roster
    Beverly, (Bi-annual), Canaan
    Harden, Daniels, Garcia
    (Full MLE), Brewer, Covington
    Love, DMo, Capela
Howard, (trade using 2015 1st), Minimum Vet

    DLeague - Nick Johnson

Weakness of lineup is obviously point guard, but hopefully we can make it work for one year then get a full MLE PG in 2015.

I think the more important question is: "Who cares why they would do it?" If it's possible, we do it and don't complain. Just in my opinion.

I don't have any ill feelings toward the Warriors, but Morey snatching Love behind their backs because they were too dumb to make a lopsided deal in favor of themselves would be great.

Unfortunately the PG Market is incredibly weak in 2015. Rondo will be a FA, but obviously won't accept MLE. Dragic could be a FA, but obviously won't accept MLE. The other PGs who will be FAs and might be worth a good portion to all of the MLE? JJ Barea and Jeremy Lin. That's how bad it is. The next best options would be 39 year old Andre Miller or CJ Watson.

If this is true then Rockets have a legit shot to get Love.

There's no way Golden State breaks up the splash brothers.

Don't forget Jameer Nelson. I think he's still quite serviceable.

Count me as one of the people that calls BS on Golden State not willing to include Thompson. Love is on a whole different level as a basketball player, and it would be absolutely silly not to let go of a player like Thompson for him. There has to be other factors, other forms of compensation holding up the talks. That, or it's all a giant smokescreen and Golden State doesn't have a shot at all.

Same situation and make it Parsons/Rockets and caving for Love. Same answer?

David lee is pretty good. Love coming in for Lee(isn't a big enough upgrade to cover up the two spot) and Thompson doesn't make the warriors better.

Emphatically yes. I'd give up Parsons in a millisecond.

Would not be surprised if the Asik deal morphs into a three way trade with Minnesota, sending Ryan Anderson to Minnesota for some assets from Houston.

Without Question. The move secures unquestionable contender status over the next decade.

They aren't sending Thompson and they aren't including a pick. Last report I read was Lee + Barnes and possibly a pick for Love, Martin and a possible pick. That isn't a very good package. Lee is 31 years old on a crappy contract for two more years @ 30 million. Barnes and the pick are the prize of the trade for Minni. I would submit that Parsons is better than Barnes, Jones is a much better contract than Lee and much younger. The question is why would the Wolves consider the GSW proposal at all if it doesn't include Thompson?
