Not that it matters much, actions always speak louder than words to me. But it clearly sounds like Tmac's voice and also something he would say. Tmac has always felt he is the star power ever since he broke out in Toronto and mostly he has been right. But now he does have to adjust if he wants to get the most out of Adelmans offense. I could care less what he says as long as he does adjust to the team. And he realizes it is not on him. It's on them the whole lot of Rockets.
Sorry , it should be: Do u have to adjust? Do u have to do things differently than before you got hurt?
This stuff to me is on the same level as gossip. It will either work with TMac back or it won't. If it doesn't, then the next step will be the coaches will work with him ... then that will work or it won't... then if need be, mgmt would take the next step. It's all highly speculative and right now words are meaningless. It's all about what happens on the court. Just wait and see.
Again and again, the stupid questions will hurt and change a person's heart, and then hurt our team's chemistry
STOP!!! stopstop The thread can be closed. Tomorrow the game will tell everything. ps. for the worst, if Tmac would still refuse to make any change and demage our consistency, He will be iso-ed.
Just to bring it up I think the purpose of the reporter who wrote the article was to bash TMAC. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2008-01-11/10103410556.shtml First of all the title of it says that: Rockets number 1 refuse to change playing style, TMAC:why do I need to change. Playing style dosn't equals "i am gona jack up every single shot I see and not pass to my team mates" the guy was the leading assist man for the Rockets when he was healthy for goodness sakes. Also He can play with his style, which for the better part of his career has been attacking the basket and playing great defense. also the first paragraph, as from my perspective shows the intent of the writer sitting on the bench, TMAC lazily stares at the court, as if dozing off. Every now and then the jumbotron shows this allstar whos is not playing ball(?), he(i am asuming that he is still writing about TMAC) with a look of not caring, added a word: "I am hungry, wheres my hot dog".
I think the question is more than clear enough. And his answer did disappoint me unless there is subconsequent context although it does not seem to be really helpful. So let's see what is happening when he comes back. Actions overweigh Words if I have to choose to believe it.
While I don't fully trust some Chinese reports (Sina is rather notorious), but seriously there's reason being skeptical on Tmac as well. In Fran Blineburry's, he wrote: "Despite what he says publicly, McGrady does not appear comfortable with the offense and, based on some things he's said privately, may not be fully committed to making it work." "He's told some people that he doesn't really think the offense can work. --Fran" I still believe if possible, trading Tmac for some solid players, especially those who can tighten up the perimeter D and willing to play within RA system will be the better way to go. Tmac very likely will get away from the system because deep inside, a system that makes him less "DA man" is not very palatable.
Tmac has been treated as a criminal recently! Tmac will be back soon. Let's see what will happen. All these garbage articles are not more than guess. They are meaningless!
I know so well about those reporters, I mean, entertainers. For example: Q: LeBron, if, I mean if, you get a chance to choose who you play with, would you choose Yao Ming? LeBron: Yeah why not? Next day the title on first page of the newspaper: LeBron wanted to be traded to Houston.
I'm generally skeptical of any Rockets related gossip from Chinese media, but this wouldn't exactly shock me if true. McGrady has a giant ego. And he tends to say dumb things in interviews. But 2 and 2 together, and this kind of stuff comes out.
**** sina and its bullsh!t reporter. These b!tches do nothing but just want to stir things up. And fools like you believe and post the crap here.
Pretty much what I think, too. He means well (anyone who hangs out with Mutombo cannot be a bad guy), but things tend to come out the wrong way when he says them.
Oh dear Lord, even more tripe. The GARM is so unbearable lately, it's almost as bad as the 2005-06 season. It's even more pathetic considering that we're in the midst of a 4 game winning streak.
"When I'm on the court, some of them don't (play) like that," McGrady said. "There is something positive that's come out of this. Guys have gained confidence and some sort of rhythm. They're playing well. Hopefully, I come back and don't ruin that." He laughed … sort of a nervous laugh. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2008-01-10-notes_N.htm
Poor guy, reminds me how Yao worried about his comeback would hurt the team last year. Cheer up Tmac, we'll be even better with you on the court.
This crap shouldn't even be allowed on this forum. At the very least, the thread starter should let us know that the article being posted is coming from the Chinese media so I can skip it. I complain about how dishonest the U.S. media is but these cats in China are in a class by themselves.
It won't, cos Tracy McGrady will not be playing tomorrow. He needs another 5 ~ 7 days before he could return. .
