Let's say, hypothetically, that Silas is THE guy for this team and he's here until at least the duration of his contract. That means the offense he wants to run--a system where his primary ballhandler is to read the defense and act accordingly (e.g. make the right pass or outright be the scoring threat--would not mesh with Simmons' game at all. Something's gotta give--either Silas changes his system to factor in the fact that Simmons is not a scoring threat in the mold of Harden, Luka or Simmons will have to do what he's allergic to for most of his NBA career and that's to actually start shooting.
forget Silas, Simmons wants a team that will be his, and that would mean him with the ball in his hands being the main playmaker…problem is he not only can’t, but he refuses to shoot Simmons doesn’t want to be Draymond Green, he wants to be Magic Johnson if we were somehow in a playoff game, hack-a-Simmons would have him all fcked up mentally after the 4th missed free throw also, Simmons dogged it at LSU…has quit on Philly because his feelings are hurt…Now, why would he give full effort for a trash team like ours that’s playing for lottery balls?
I want Simmons here not so much for this season because this season is pretty much a wrap. More so for next season when I expect for them to be a much better team. I expect all of our 2nd year players to be balling. Including Garuba.
Simmons may be something of a head case, but he is super talented, especially defensively. He is not that great a shooter, but his size makes him a threat to score in the paint.
You: but his size makes him a threat to score in the paint. Him: Pictures of Simmons in the paint, wide open to the basket, afraid to shoot, passing the ball
see i would think had we made KPJ 6th man this year - that would have offered plenty enough insight... coulda had him run the 2nd unit and tailor it to him.... woulda allowed a little less stress for his 'emotional state'.... if we coulda (?) had a pass first Wall directing the starting unit maybe they would learn something and not look so lost and help in their development... KPJ get some crossover sliding over to the 2 and gauge him when he's not the pg... further insights... but my whole opinion is we got the blind leading the blind... everything seems to be about getting guys that 'fit the timetable' - as opposed to the right blend of youth and vets to aid in the youngsters development... ehhh... woulda shoulda coulda... lol
Literally my exact reaction when I read that comment.. I was like hold up - isn't the whole reason this lunatic is having a mental breakdown - because he had the PERFECT opportunity to score in the paint and he passed it up?
And yet "Benji" can actually finish at the rim in traffic consistently, unlike Jalen. And Simmons only had ONE season in his ENTIRE career where he was a +/- negative on the court. And that ONE season, Simmons was negative in SINGLE digits. Green is a +/- negative in DOUBLE digits for THIS season and I anticipate this will be case next season as well. Simmons has NEVER been a -35 in any game. Even that infamous playoff game that you posted earlier. Simmons was actually +9.4 in for ENTIRE playoffs and +4 vs the Hawks. Enough with the gaslighting and/or ignorance. We know many on CF dislike Ben Simmons, many of these very same posters disliked drafting Evan Mobley too. https://www.nba.com/playoffs/2021/east-semifinal-1/stats
Not as much as Tilly did. And I would not be shocked if Stone took the lead on this considering how much Morey disliked the trade.
Lol, what does Jalen Green have to do with Ben Simmons? Or Mobley for that matter... Socialite Salmons also had +/- of -16 in the Toronto series and now tells Ramona he could've easily blamed Joel for that loss. Joel who was +90 in that series. This guy is soft.
it was all about shipping out CP3 to coddle Harden - and then it all blew up in our faces anyway... if Harden had been cool with CP3... no discussion woulda been had (bc DM sure as hell didnt want WB) - and no bonehead decision by Frittata woulda been in play... funny to see how much confidence the Nets are placing in Harden's 'commitment to the team...' - no extension signed - then they're willing to move him for Simmons rather than get screwed over by his lies and narcissistic nature... lol
