Not only this, but every one of our cut-able players could be involved in a three way trade whereby our player helps the other two teams match salaries and we get nothing back--except a trade exception. haha see there will be cuts, but the most likely scenario of us trading someone is being the boring 3rd team in a 3-way, imo. and when that happens, there will be a big thread with half the posters condemning "giving" Snyder away for nothing, when in fact we got a trade exception back for Snyder. I mean, that is all that Snyder is worth on the market...a trade exception. We might be able to get more for Snyder...see...yes, we might. But we might not get anything more for Snyder. And Morey is too good to just cut Snyder; he will want to get something back for Snyder, and probably all he is going to get back for Snyder is a trade exception.
It would seem like that, but most teams are actually over/right on the cap, so they want to get rid of someone in order to receive another player. It's not like they are trading a superstar for some of these players but they may give up some bad contract of a decent player or something.
I'd cut Reed, Snyder, Sura, Lucas, Novak. I'd keep Harris and the others. But what I think will happen will be they cut Sura, Lucas, Novak, Harris, Snyder (Reed stays because of his salary). But I think you are right - teams won't trade for their 12th man - they will just take a chance they can pick him up for free.
someone actually did a 10-1 trade for kobe. i cant remember where i read it, but its in this forum. i do see players that would not be in our team much longer are sura, jl3, reed, synder and landry.
I disagree. The likely cut players (JL3, Reed, Harris) have zero trade value. But the 11th through 15th players have value since they will make the team. I could see trading Snyder and then keeping Harris or Reed. (I know I am not considering who we get back on the trade).
I'd like it if they could get something for any one of our "cutters" and hopefully they will but I can see teams playing poker on guys like Snyder and Novak. They won't make or break your season - just practice players - though I like Snyder the best of all in my list so there might be someone who will trade. But then you have the problem of find a trade partner that has a matching TE or is under the cap because we don't want anyone back (that they'd be willing to part with) and there are few of those teams.
Fine with me. One deal like that would be great - two would be awesome, and that is all we need to complete the roster for the season. I have two spots left on the roster between five that I would like to keep or trade for value, in order of favorites. Harris - Snyder - Novak - Reed - Landry
I think your naive for thinking that a team would trade a second rounder for a 3rd string pg that they know is going to be cut. So what if they lose him to another team, at the end of the day hes still a 3rd string PG.
