^^ in England, he gets a reprimand and is let go the same day.. in the US, he gets a jail sentence of 6 months.
It's funny because while they go out and arrest the guy they just as well televise it on the local news there in london uncensored, allowing all to see the "details" of the incident.
On the subject of the women, 132 lbs. is pretty skinny for a tall girl. I worry about some of these, especially the one in the "skeleton" pictures (that is an eating disorder). On the subject of the men: Faos, I didn't need to see that... must replace it with... OK, I feel better now.
I still can't believe Baghdatis's run in these majors. I just can't take his game seriously. He seems like he lacks the skills to compete on the ultimate level, but seeing him make these final rounds just makes me wonder how fickle the game of tennis can be. EDIT: I mean I've seen him suck it up so badly in so many of these smaller tournaments. Wonder how he steps it up so big in these big ones.
He's got all the skills, it's just his mental game and his conditioning that allow him to hit the shots he normally does. I was rooting for Hewitt though because I think he has a better chance against Nadal if he makes it to the semis. I like Nadal but I don't want to see him succeed so quickly on grass. It'll just spur the Nadal is better than Federer debate even more. I don't think Nadal is better but if he keeps showing improvements like this he could be.
I'm exactly the same, i wanted Nadal to pay his dues for another couple of seasons before breaking through. Then again, after Federer destroys him, people will quickly realise who the man is so i'm looking forward to that. Federer will have even more pressure on him because its on grass, he better keep his head on straight. I think he'll beat him in 3 sets should they meet in the final.
Even if Federer beats him, Nadal still owns the head to head on clay and and on hard court. He'll need Nadal to get to a few more finals before he can even tht record up. Roger will just be known as the King of Grass and nadal as the king of clay if Roger should win. If Nadal gets to the final though, you can bet that the US Open will be highly watched because of these two.
I believe the tournament crew or whatever gave it to him as a gift for his achievements at wimbledon. It's supposed to be a champions jacket. Something they used to wear in previous wimbledons. Maybe they are bringing back traditions or something. Not sure if that's correct but that's what I read.
Federer just blew away Bjorkman in the semis and now it looks like Nadal is going to be facing him in the finals probably. My god how in the world did this kid get to the finals on grass. I hate the fact that claycourters have been complaining about the speed of the grass and I hate wimbledon for listening to their whines and slowing the courts down for them. TRADITION MY @SS
Eh...I really don't like how polarized Federer/Nadal fans have become. Nadal fans accuse Federer of being a cocky b*stard simply because the press chose to publicize some of Federer's comments this year. He said Nadal's game was a bit "one-dimensional." Well...prior to this year, I think EVERYONE in the tennis world agreed that Nadal was a purely clay-court specialist. I think Roger would be the first person to recant that assessment. Besides, these haters frequently ignore the fact that English isn't exactly his best language. On the flip side, Federer fans completely disrespect the effectiveness of Nadal's scrambling style of play, claiming that grass/hard courts play significantly slower these days. Sure his game may not be as pretty as Roger's, but it works. Moreover, they also tend view Nadal's bad-boy, "devil-may-care" image as an indication of poor sportsmanship. Honestly, I can't count the number of times I've heard a player on tour explicitly say that Federer is still as polite and down-to-earth as he's ever been...that his success has not changed him at all. As for Nadal, I've seen him call Federer "the best player in history" on at least 3 different occasions this year. Bottom line is, these two guys are both still humble and have nothing but respect for each other. Personally, I'm huge Federer fan. I'll root for Federer to win every match he plays against Nadal, but it's good to see someone come up and challenge him after two years of dominance. I hope to see a true rivalry develop...with the two gunning neck-and-neck for #1 for years to come.
I like nadal's game. The only thing I don't like is how much time he takes between points. It's so annoying but that boy has skills and huge heart. I just wanted him to take his lumps before he started succeeding so quickly. He definitely is a huge contrast compared to Federer though. it's like night and day. Both are cocky players but they just good about being diplomatic to the public and to each other but you know in their minds they want to kick each other's asses. You have to think Nadal is pretty confident about his chances of beating Federer after owning him all year long. If nadal does get to the final, even on especially on THIS grass, he'll have a very good chance.
Well of course they want to kick each other's asses. That's the whole point of a rivalry. Agassi and Sampras were enemies on the court, but at the end of the day, it was clear each had complete respect for the other. I don't think it has anything to do with being "diplomatic" to the public. Of course he does, but I'm still rooting for Roger to give him a good thumping though. Nadal just matches up really well with Roger. His extreme-topspin lefty forehand plays directly to Roger's weaker side.
Nadal up 2 sets to none against Bagdhatis. I think it's done guys. Nadal-Federer in the final. Marcos has had some gutsy 5 setters but we're talking about nadal here.
