Why on earth do the Timberwolves have to be in the Western conference? I want to cheer for this team so much, and now that they might get Mudiay (my favorite up coming rookie), I have a strong desire to cheer for this team. Couldn't they just move to the east? That's would be nice. I am a Rocket forever, just hoping they can trade places with an eastern conference team.
If Milwaukee ever moves to Seattle either New Orleans/Memphis/Minnesota would have to move to the East, so you might be able to root for the Timberpups one day.
I've never understood why people get shat on for wanting another team to see some success (especially if they haven't been relevant in forever). It's only natural to be a fan of good NBA basketball if you are already a hardcore Rockets fan. I'm with you OP
They won't be a contender for a long while and play in a different division, so rooting for them wouldn't be directly in conflict with being a Rockets fan. Think a lot of people like two NBA teams and sometimes from the same conference.
A lot of blasphemy in this thread. It is never acceptable to root for another team. Every true fan knows this. You never see a Red Sox fan cheering on the White Sox or a Raiders fan rooting for the Steelers. Why on Earth would it be OK for a fan of the Rockets to actively support Minnesota? It is unnatural and an abomination against all things holy. That said, it is permissible to favor another team in a contest where the Rockets are not involved. But it has to be kept in perspective. For instance, you can hope that every team crushes the Jazz or you can want the Timberwolves to win when going against the Clippers because such an outcome would be favorable to the Playoff position of the Rockets. This is all common sense. I can't believe some of you youngsters weren't raised in a way that this is evident.
Op, you trying to establish fandom before they get good so you don't get called a bandwagoner? Just join the wolves board.
