Since you apparently don't know what Shaq has done this year, he was only averaging 15 ppg and 7 rebounds. Yao's piss poor defense gave up twice that to an over the hill player like Shaq.

I pity the fool that is YOU!

Outside of smaller fronting defenses, Shaq has always been Yao's toughest match-up. He's really the only player in the league in Yao's career who could consistently play him for the whole game and slow him down. Shaq is one of the only centers that league that can overpower Yao and doesn't need a help defender.

In other words, he's real center and Shaq usually gets up for a game with Yao, he may cost in other games, but when faces a real center or pretty good team who will bring his best stuff.

i pity the fool that is YOU my friend. shaq is motivated everytime he plays against yao. from the rookie year to now.

a motivated shaq RIGHT NOW is still a dominant player. the problem with shaq right now is he has 4 rings, where does he get the motivation from night in and night out.

I may be wrong, but didn't Yao get the best of Shaq last year?

Incorrect. Outside of small fronting defense, big fronting defense, no fronting defense, 6'6" players guarding him from behind, and 6'2" guards guarding him from behind, Shaq has been Yao's toughest matchup.

this thread is so dumb on so many levels, but let's focus on 1.

1 you want to trade Yao to improve the team. Well HELLO there are 2 superstars you can trade, and there is actually someone better at their respective position then one of ours.

There IS no other center you can trade yao for, you want dwight?

There IS KOBE BRYANT. Who is clutch, who won't be non-chalaunt after a loss, and who does win championships.

Now kobe bryant is the devil and you'd be trading an angel and your soul for a championship, but how bad to you want that championship I ask you clutchfans? HOW BAD!!!!!

I'm about to start this in a new thread because it is needed.

Technically, it's not, because I doubt any of the players in the fronting defenses could guard Yao the whole game by themselves....Diaw couldn't guard Yao for the whole game, neither can Harrington or other sg/sf......they can front him when the Rockets are shooting poorly, but if the Rockets are hitting their shots and moving the ball or attacking the baskets their fronting becomes useless.

On the other hand, Shaq does not need any gimmick defenses or help defenders to slow Yao down.

As far as a single player, if you wanted to stop Yao one-on-one both offensively and defensively, I would choose Shaq, maybe Okur a distant second.

In some previous games, Shaq has left footprints on Yao, he is still powerful player and that's another of slowing Yao down is totally overpowering him.

The reason why fronting defenses because the weak side big man is cheating. The reason why they can get away with it is because Chuck Hayes is *no* threat on offense. Pretty simple, huh?

It's a lot easier to stop Yao when he stands at the elbow. In fact it doesn't take much at all to stop Yao when he stands at the elbow since as JVG said he is very average outside of 10 feet.

Adelman is COMPLETELY to blame tonight. He planted Yao at the elbow and thus Yao wasn't really involved in the offense. Adelman seemingly was afraid of letting Yao go at Shaq but that played right into the Heat's and Shaq's hands since then Shaq wouldn't have to work on defense at all. Adelman's failure was greatest tonight.

My dream scenario would be Yao for howard and tracy for kobe. Dwight and kobe would be nasty. dwight and tracy will be good 2. However orlando will never trade a 22 year old whos allready better then yao.

Dwight = dominating presence inside now and may improve his offensive game later
Yao = softie now and softie later

Um, why would Orlando every want to make that trade??

Unfaithful fans like you who jump off from the bandwagon after a few loss should be tossed off this forum.

Be quiet. dwight is allready beastin at age of 22. with dwight we have the best C in the game now and the future. sorry YOF, but dwight represent a beast. no GM in the League would turn this down. dwight is avge 23 and 14 boards. yes 23 and 14 boards 2.5 blocks a game. and he hasnt even enterd he's prime. unlike our soft ass superstars in tracy and yao, dwight can rebound and play defense.

Any real rockets fan would do this. only YOF fans would turn this down
