Wasn't born or had grown up in the states so I can't claim "home court" In 7 years I was lookin for a city to claim my own I had lived in quite a few and learned, as far as fans go, they're all equal (perception of their team vs. others). Houston was in the state that suits my clothes and oh so near water with enough coast line to keep me happy for EVER. I'll die with Houston on my breath.
Houston was named the most diverse city in the US link Atlanta gets more large games than we do. But I think will change as the Georgia dome ages. Also that stupid tomahaw chop has got to go. I enjoy the pace of life and how you can go places in Houston and feel like you are in a completely different world. Heights, Pasadena, Montrose, Near-town, Mid-town, Med center and the many places outside of the city that I enjoy. I also work for the highest paid school district in the state, Deer Park
I was born in San Antonio, raised in Milwaukee and Houston. But most of my family was born and raised and still live in Houston. So that's a BIG reason. Hmm, Blue Bell ice cream, the barbacoa from La Casita, playing trivia at Catbirds, weekends at the beach house in Galveston, the humidity, Memorial Park and going to Rockets games.
I just love the way how the city of Houston have built. It's so perfect. For instance, the loop 610 is close to downtown and you can drive less time on loop 610 to where you want to go. The Galleria buildings are awesome. Can't beat that. It has many subdivisions with very beautiful houses. If you want to relax and enjoy, just take one hour drive to Galveston. Soon, we will have three loops because there will be new huge Grand Parkway loop coming up, wow. If you want to go to sport game, they have many stadiums. If you are hungry and want to eat something new, Houston is for you because they have many fast food restaruants and the variety of foods. If you want to enjoy the skyline view, Houston and the Galleria has the amazing skyline. If you want to buy cheap house, live in Houston. If you want to go to park, you can drive to park nearby your house. There are so many parks. There are so many good things about Houston. Houston has some attractions like Kemah, Galveston Pier Pleasure, many movie theaters, NASA. I like all the Greater Houston city names such as Baytown, Woodlands, Sugar Land, Galveston, Katy, and more because they are perfect names.
That too crediting Houston's planning? I love Houston but my god we have one of the worst planned major cities in the US. It's urban sprawl at its very worst.
Yeah, and remember Dynamos and Comets championship. Aeros too. I hope Astros and Texans will soon. Astros winning NL Championship in 2005 is considered a champ.
Yeah, I really wish we had zoning. But we still have a pretty good skyline without it. I love the way the roads are laid out. Houston is the easiest major city to get around in by far. There's always a few options to get where you need to go. I hate those mini suicide entrance ramps in Dallas.
Houston has great winters. Los Angeles is littered with burning tires and over priced condo's. I do like LA weather though.
