Highly doubtful. Adelman is an incredible coach. If we don't want him, there are quite a few teams out there that would gladly take him.
If you were to never have paid any attention to any talks about McGrady, didnt remember that he had an injury, didnt go in with an overly critical eye and watched the clip, you would not think he had an injury. He just looked like a regular older player controlling the action. I didnt see any limping, sluggishness, anything like that. I think the critics are coming down way hard on him for their own ulterior or obvious reasons. STILL...its just 1 eight minute glimpse. He did look rusty in other games. And he doesnt figure to be the player he was. He can still play the game, but not at that elite upper crest level. Mostly as a serviceable skilled player with veteran savvy. Thats mostly going against the OP's assertions.... Too many philosophical differences between player/organization, + lack of dependability and professionalism, not to mention the organization has scoreboard on McGrady, altogether has more than made him expendable.
The clips show his highlights. If you want to see sluggishness, poor defense, or poor offensive movement, watch the actual game.
