I thought great players were supposed to make others better, not rely everyone else to make them better.
Once Yao learns to avoid fouls he will put up better stats, the rockets will win, YOF will be happy, rockets fans will be happy, cf.net will be happy.... well, i dont know about that... but the main thing holding Yao back is his limited minutes on the floor. JVG has done a good job of adjusting this season, I don't see Yao doing the same things he did at the beginning of the season. He's more mobile and uses more cutting toward the basket... is JVG not responsible for that? JVG is trying to put Yao in the best position to succeed, along with every player on our team other than MoT and Gaines. It's up to Yao to use every minute he's in the game to his advantage.. JVG is giving him this chance, not taking it from him. At the beginning of the season I honestly felt JVG was limiting Yao's potential. I now realise that JVG was doing what every NBA coach does, and that is experiment. He's responsible for finding what works and what doesn't. Pounding the ball into Yao in the post wasn't working as well as JVG and all of us hoped, so he adjusted.. he went to plan B. Now Yao has seen improvement and is involved more into the offense even though he is less the focus of the offense. Let's give JVG credit for Yao's improvement, not claim he's holding Yao back. I've seen plenty of times Yao passed when he should have shot, or got blocked when he should have THREW IT DOWN BIG MAN, or pick up fouls on mini-me gaurds driving to the lane when he should just try to adjust the shot and not block (giving up 2pts in the 2nd quarter is less of a concern than a 3rd foul..). I liked the thought of this thread but I doubt many will get to read my insight due to the rubbish they have to read before they get here.

What he meant was, individually, they are able to put up big numbers, by themselves. They are DOMINANT as INDIVIDUALS. Like Hakeem, Jordan, Shaq and TMac. Plus, they all could average between 38-40 min per game. Yao has yet to show that he can dominate everynight. He's not at that same level, quicknes, strength or stamina wise. These players did not need constant pampering or coddling. They just did it! Now, winning as a team is a different story. That requires help; other talented role playres.
I was sooooo proud of our team in the 4th Q of the Indiana game. The shots were not falling, but team chemistry held fast and clamped down on defense to gut out the win. A win on the road at that. The coaching gets credit with team chemsitry, no one buckled, and I feel Indiana is a tough opponent. Juwan did a fine job of affecting Jermaine O'neal's game. I do not pretend to know what is being coached on the sidelines, but watching on TV - the defense pulled this game out with fundamentals. This is a clear indicator of a very promising developing and improving team!! A great win. Adapt and persevere. I love my team and winning!!!!!!
For our team continue to win not just this season but next few years too. I hope CD and jvg can use some young players and develop them just like Spurs. When I compare our team with spurs 1 by 1 I feel we still have a long way to go to be a champin contender. Yao>Nest TD>>JH Parker=>Sura Tmac>>Bowen Wes<<Jinob and also for the bench they are much deep than us. We need youg and deep players for our future. Wish our rockets can make surprise for us this year. So we fans need adjust our expectation. For me, make playoff is ok, if they can fight into second round, I will say WOW. what to you guys think. JVG and CD still have a lot of job to do.
0-11 3 point, unbeliveble I don't know how to say, How can we win this blazers. We do need practice shoot more and more. I really feel when we can hit, we can beat anyone. when we are cold, things are really really hard. Hope our tmac comeback and score over 40 every game and our 3s falling. Go rockets. win is a win
M.Jordan is basketball God! He doesn't need to make anyone else better ! Oneal was making Hardaway better ! Oneal was making Mr. Kobe better ! Oneal is making Wade better! I won't put anyone else at the same level as MJ and Oneal though!

Bye the way, If Oneal can win all this year, I would put him on the same level as dream. Dream won the frist title without another star at his team, even not talking about the Kobe like player.
Also, Jordan had Pippen. I am not sure if Dream had CLyde a few years earlier, Jordan still could won so many title.
I'm just proud that we can win with t-mac in a slump lately, not hitting any 3s and missing open shots and we still win! all the good teams do this constantly. I can't even count the number of times we used lose in this situation every time. I expect to win every game now, no matter who is on the court, no matter who we are playing. Our chemistry is soaring right now but we have not even peaked yet!
IMO, i think we are winning because all cylinders are clicking, especially at our PF position. FACT: Juwon Howard is averaging a DOUBLE DOUBLE in february. I've noticed that he's also playing this thing called defense, Randolph only had 7 pts tonight. personel changes have been big, consistency at our positions has also been important. Juwon's recent contributions have been HUGE. and this is coming from someone who's always thought JH has been a huge underachiever, IMO he's never contributed to his team in his entire career as much as he has in the past few games.
Talking about further derailing this thread. I'm not the one who started derailing this thread but somehow your *objective* mind seem to hold me solely accountable for it. Anyway, if you have a problem with me, feel free to contact me by the email in my profile. This isn't the best place for settling such matters. Thanks for adding nothing - not Rockets related, not even basketball related stuff - to this thread. Now let me repond to your juvenile attacks. Let me tell you something smarty pants, don't think too much of yourself because you give off some video clips, you guys are the ones that constantly degrading this forum through forbidding others to express their opinions freely by playing the labeling game. Here is your typical routine towards people who don't agree with you on issues regarding Yao, first, call others as YOFs, then, if that doesn't stick, call others stubborn fools with impenetrable minds. Why don't you take a look at yourself in the mirror before you claim your way is the only way? I've often found you and a few others talking in absolute tones like the Islamic fundamentalists. Too much sarcasm and too little respect. Too much personal attack and too little substance. Frankly, talking to you guys are a often waste of my time. Your post above is a perfect testament to it. Some YOF haters often suck as much or more as/than some YOFs.
well Mr Rolo I finally made it through the rubbish and did get to read your post. And a few other good ones as well. This is now a team and there is some good chemistry that has developed and will continue to develop. We have some people who pass better and turnover less, less one on one play and more crisp ball movement. Juwan is rebounding better and Yao is playing much better. And hopefully they will all continue to improve their individual and team games, and God forbid we may have a chance to do something in the playoffs??? And the whining and insults will decrease?????? Nawwww!
One thing I notice about this is we are winning the games we are suppose to win as oppose to last year's team inconsistency. But let me point one thing out to you. All of our winning streaks was stop by teams with better records than us. So that tells me that the Rockets may not be as good as some people may think they are. IMO I think the Rockets are the 7th best team in the West. Memphis is going to pass us. And because winning has made us blind you don't see this yet.
