Why was LT so pissed off during the post game interviews?

The motive questioning by the Patriot-backers in this thread is amusing.


I'm a Raiders fan.

I hate the Chargers. I think Merriman is a dirty cheater.


BUT... When you do something of that nature, you're basically putting salt in the wound. Thats like trying to run up the score. And the whole "well if you don't want it to happen, win the game" argument is a bull**** cop-out. Plenty of teams win games and just go out on the field and shake hands after some celebrating.

How many of you were defending TO when he danced on the Dallas Star?

Same thing with the Hurricans example. As long as its the good ol' Patriots lead by the good ol boys Tom Brady and Belicheck... it must be ok.

Maybe in the regular season. But when you just finished a come-from-behind win against the #1 seed in the playoffs you are going to do a little dancing and celebrating. And if Merriman was running his mouth all week and probably all game he got what he had coming to him.

 

I felt based on what I saw from the two teams in the game it would have slammed the door on NE.

But that aside, you debated with me on why belichick went for it on 4th and 5, when we are saying the same thing as to why.

 

i think what the patriots did was classless.

but i also think that stupid merriman "lights out" dance is classless too. hell, i think all the stupid celebrating after recording a sack, tackle, or pass breakup is classless.

that is what they are getting paid to do! i know it's an emotional game but the whole celebrating thing gets old when it is done on virtually every play.

small, non-choreographed celebrations after a touchdown or game-changing play are okay, but after every tackle is flippin' ridiculous.

so note to all teams with dumbass celebrations: don't get mad and call other teams "classless" for mocking YOUR OWN stupid celebrations that you do ALL GAME LONG.

 

i have no allegiance to either team, and if either, it would be the chargers because LT won a big money fantasy league for me this year, and i'll still say this: LT is a sore loser and his true colors came out.

why is it ok for merriman to show up opposing qbs and do his stupid little dance inches from their head every time he commits a sack? if you're gonna dish it, you gotta be able to take it too.

this is way way different than TO dancing on the star.

Almost all defensive players do dances or show emotion after they make a sack or big play, let you don't always see the opposing team dance on the logo on the other team's home field when a class act is coming to congratulate you for a good game.

If you're going to call Merriman stupid or classless, then you should also call the Patriots stupid and classless. Two wrongs don't make a right.

 

I'll give you a prime example. Drayton Florence(SD DB) got a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty for a headbutt. The next SD drive, CBS shows a clip of NE DB Ellis Hobbs swinging for a SD player's head. No flag.

And for a team supposedly as "business" like as NE, you shouldn't feel the urge to stomp on the opposing team's logo mocking a sack dance.

But that comes from Belichick. He is a jerk imho. Look at how he treated Eric Mangini after taking the jets job. Bitter bitter man.

 

And he looks like a hobo.

 

It is quite a disparity in virtue between Belichick and Dungy. Nice guys finish last, however...

 

I don't know why you're crediting Brady so much. This is exactly why I hate the Patriots so much. Everything must come back to Brady being clutch, Brady being the greatest, Brady being a god.
He threw a freaking interception late in the fourth quarter down by 8. If it hadn't been for a fumble by the defense, the Patriots would have lost and everyone would hopefully have seen Brady's game for what it was.

 

Let me preface this by saying that I was rooting for the Chargers. The Patriots celebrated on their field. Big deal. When you win you can do what you want. Three rings in four years and going for a fourth. The reason they win is because they are good. The reason people rate Brady so highly is because he wins. It's simple. Scoreboard.

Sure they do. It's one thing to celebrate after making a sack or a good play in the game (and let's stop acting like Merriman is the only player in the NFL who does this). It's a completely different thing to do it when a completely different player comes up to congratulate you after he just lost on his home turf.

 

How is LT a sore loser? Because he was defending his teammate. Isn't that what another teammate should do...have his back. I don't agree with Merrimen showin up the QB. But u can't just go on someone's home field in the middle of a game and start copyin there dance after u win. 2 wrongs don't make a right. And sayin LT has no class is pure bs. U know what he said after he said that the Patriots have no class for showin them up. He said he thought that the better team won even though he was angry after losing. And bein classy means not talking trash when you're the best player in the league and even when you score the record breaking touchdown like he did he didn't celebrate and instead just gave the ball to the ref.

As for LT he just lost his cool. He's mad they lost not about some stupid dance.
