The players who didn't play much in the 2nd half were probably partying with Rick Ross. McHale found out and was disappointed they didn't go with Harden.
the 'media' in houston consists of a handfull of patsy's seemingly on les' payroll, beginning with the grand mouthpiece feigen himself
I dont understand why we dont play Clint and Trez together. They are a much more potent defensive combo than what we were running last night.
It really did make no sense. Harrell, Capella and even Hayes all played well when they were on the court. There was no reason not to play two bigs at least some of the time. Cutting time from Capella was especially egregious though, as he was doing a great job of protecting the basket and getting rebounds and loose balls when he was out there.
If you asked them they'd probably tell you it was a spacing thing.....even though it's not like the spacing is any good with Howard and Jones or Capela and Jones and they play those guys together. There's really no solid excuse for Capela not playing more last night.
Rockets were not playing together. McHale most likely didn't want Capela and Harrell in at same time as they don't know defense as well as vets and don't provide spacing. He chose Harrell. Until DMo gets healthy, McHale doesn't have a big man that can space court and play team defense. Rockets have a lot of guys worthy of being in rotation, but too many of them don't shoot well enough to create spacing. While I understand McHale wanted more shooters on floor (even though Rockets aren't making them), this is the team that is healthy now. Capela should have played more. A SF on bench that could shoot would help out a lot.
The coach wanted to save the Clint energy to play the OKC game tonight. McHale is just too smart to plan everything ahead.
It was baffling, he always complains we do not have enough big men and now when we do, he doesn't play them. McHale always acts like he loves big men and only goes to small ball when out of options, but to me it seems that is all it is, an ACT. He loves small ball and rarely does it pay off. Playing without a big men when you play Whiteside is just stupid. There is no other word for it.
Anybody else notice that he inexplicably yanked Thornton while he was on fire? What the hell was that about?
McHale probably wanted to adjust to guarding Bosh, but he's always a few steps late with whatever solution he comes with. When we had a big guy on Bosh, they'd get him looks on the perimeter. McHale tried to defend that by going small, so the Heat countered that by going big and had Whiteside rape the paint.
