Absolutely nothing wrong in thinking the Texans have a chance at winning next week. If you only look at the final score of their early season loss to Baltimore, it's misleading. I don't see it as being blown out because they were playing even up until that fourth quarter. And we all know the Texans have had trouble closing teams out, as evidence by the loss to NO.

This is a different team now than the one that played the Ravens during the regular season. We may not have key players, but the team absolutely believes in themselves. Heading into yesterday's game we weren't heavy favorites, and many people out there thought we'd roll over and die. And that certainly wasn't the case.

Sure we have an uphill battle...Texans are 0-5 against the Ravens, who are 8-0 at home coming off a bye week. But they are NOT the Saints or the Packers or the Patriots. I'm more scared of getting into a shootout with teams than I am of playing against tough, physical opponents. I think those type of games play more to the Texan's strength.

I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic, just like I did against the Bengals. The Ravens are tough, but they are not a juggernaut.

Geez, this thread alone has caused my ignore list to almost double.

Someone explain why the fans cannot be optimistic? As of right now, we have a 100% better chance to win the Superbowl than 22 other teams. If all you want to do is tell everyone how the Texans are gonna lose next week, then start a thread about it. I'll be sure to not read it.

Don't turn the ball over and stretch the field enough to have some semblance of a running/productive short game..........

Then let the defense take us as far as they can.

When Moe's was trolling the Texans board it wasn't his best work, but his legacy deserves better than this particular D-League replacement.

I am celebrating the win, I won't consider the season a failure if we lose to the Ravens (except for the mandatory knee jerk reaction in the first 10 minutes after the game).

But why in the world, would someone not want to look for scenarios where we can win. It's one thing to try to be cold and dispassionate if you are trying to wager on a couple games you don't care about to get some pocket money...but your home team, in their FIRST playoff run.

Well I would rather be a homer and enjoy it than try to get a little extra attention by telling a bunch of Texans fans they can't do it.

Apparently DeVry doesn't offer a course to distinguish the two.

Hey code, put him on your ignore list. He made mine, and the threads are so much more troll-free.

Sidenote - anyone on my ignore list is dead to me. When adding GlenRice and HPD, I noticed several others that had been ignored for years. I guess once your posts are no longer read, you have no chance to ever improve.

    So long GlenRice.

THE point and purpose of sports is the hyper-emotion. You want to feel a part a collective effort like a family or tribe, you want to feel exhilaration; even the collective misery of losing can be a humanizing emotion (i.e. Cubs fans). It's an outlet to live larger than your everyday life.

Jump on the bandwagon and have fun with it. There are too few opportunities for big emotions, joy and harmless misery to miss the big ones.
