Why the term "LOH" should never be used (LOFs, listen up)

But there are users that seemed to have joined just to troll us. I see users that joined after Lin was acquired that consistently only post bad things about him and last year only showed up in game threads where he did poorly.

Maybe they were rival fans that getting some fun out of seeing this board argue. I know there are CF members that joined LakersUnderground and other sites to troll them.

And yet there are also members that joined before Lin was acquired and are still called LOFs simply because they support him.

That doesn't make sense either right?

The fact is that both terms are ridiculous because they are misused. Sure, there are some people who joined because of Lin just to support him. And likewise, there are definitely people who joined just to troll.

I doubt it. Most of the obnoxious ones only read the garm, because they have little to no interest in basketball, outside of Lin. Or maybe they just think "NBA dish" is for trading recipes.

 

Maybe been mentioned before but there are certainly people who aren't rocket fans but actually Knick fans.

He pissed a lot of them off and so a few trolls came over here to stir up trouble. Anyone who had a 2012 join date and seemed like their whole purpose was hating Lin they were definitely LOHs...or better yet they were trolls just here to stir up mess.

 

I can tell you that all of this is stupid. LOF implies that the person on this forum is a fan of only Lin and will follow him to whatever team he is on. It has nothing to do with join date of this forum though. Its a personal stance for them as fans. Although, it is highly unlikey that a true "LOF" joined this forum before lin came here...the term itself doesnt have anything do with that. Also, there are many on here that are given the "LOF" title that are just huge fans of lin and still love the rockets. Maybe they came over here with YAO, and never left. Now they have lin and are bigger fans of him as an individual than the rockets as a team. Yadda Yadda yadaa...

LOH implies someone that loves the rockets, except for lin, regardless of his join date. What about the term "LOH - Lin only Hater" implies that they had to join after lin became a rocket just to hate on Him. The term isnt saying they ARE NOT a fan of the rockets but could be a fan of all the rockets except for Lin...thus the... Lin "only" Hater (they do not hate the rest) they hate only on lin. A LOH may not be a rocket fan, but nothing about the term suggests that they cannot be or that they joined this forum solely for the purpose of hating on lin.

Honestly I think both are annoying, but to write a post trying to argue that one is valid and the other isnt...is just stupidity.

I am a huge lin fan, and I believe he will have an great season this year and I think any true rockets fan should support him. I can understand you wanting an upgrade but unabashedly slamming lin is no better than some random Lin fan joining this forum just to over praise him...

Just think about how much better our roster is...Morey knows what he is doing. Lin wouldnt be here if there was good move to be made...or maybe he is waiting for something big. Regardless, enjoy the ride, and the players we have while we have them. Its been a long time coming since we had a team like this.

 

Dude, has the signing of Lin made you delusional? Read your own post again and see just how ludicrous it is. You are basically implying that there are literally Rockets fans, as in fans of the team, that disliked Lin's play but was okay with everyone else's. That means they were fine with all of our PFs that sucked, bad defense from most players, players like Aldrich and Douglas and TRob but was not okay with Lin.

Nevermind that it fails common sense, as in a Rocket fan by definition would dislike players not living up to expectation. But how would you even identify such posters?

I think all terms with "OF/OH" are extremely lame. People resort to calling people that because they have no intelligent answer. It's a cop out.

 

Is this a CF thing or is this all over the internet? I know some on here brag about being regular members of a dozen or so forums (lol), but CF is it for me. So if someone could help me out, I would appreciate it.

Then freely uses "LOF" which is the same source of labeling cut from same cloth just more positive form.

Really it should to not use any affiliated terms and about having no polarizing judging at all.

This thread is a great example of stirring up trouble where there is none. I just wish people could ignore people they disagree with more often. I don't care about Lowery Only Fans and Lowery only Haters - he's not even on our team anymore people!



Anyway, seems to me that most of the Lin-issues on this board start with the same few trolls trying to provoke them. I'd say ban the trolls and neg rep anyone who feeds them

 

Its just funny that someone who is so adamantly against the usage of "LOH" would so liberally use "LOF", even within the same thread title.

Not that I disagree with his point that the "-OH" label is stupid, but its worth keeping in mind that it only came about in response to the rampant use of the "LOF" label.
