Yes he is. The only reason that he is on the trading block is cap room for Howard and company and after Harden, Lin and Asik are the two highest paid players. I really have no idea what kind of point guard people are expecting for 8m a year. If you're looking for one who can play off the ball better then that makes sense. But for more refined skill? You gotta pay more for that.
I am 100% confident Lin stays unless we get a blockbuster deal that will allow us to form a real Big 3
I distinctly remember people already gleefully predicting that Scott Machado (yes, Scott Machado) would displace Lin for the starting spot before the regular season even began.
According to many here, they expect nothing short of prime Nash or Kidd. In additional have to accomplish that with being ball dominate and no big man to run pick and roll
What LOH's are waiting to say: Lin is traded: "See, I told you Morey agreed he was garbage." Lin stays on the team: "See, I told you no one would want this scrub."
I like Lin, he suits our system well enough (fast, active D, good driver but a little too ball dominant and not strong enough shooting) He is just too inconsistent to warrant being in the top 10 PG for cap hits (link provided). We really need consistency if we are to become contenders. Also if you consider Harden's ball dominance and the need to surround DH with shooters, we can be more efficient by signing a solid role player PG who can shoot. I understand the non-basketball reasons and with those in mind, he is more than worth his contract (although i don't agree with the OP DOH shield argument) but if there was ever a time to build the best 'basketball' team possible, it is now. http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nba/cap-hit/point-guard/
I hope he stays, I think he is going to get better and better. Some of his passes are amazing. If you can do great things, but aren't consistent there is hope you can do great things consistently.
Kobe and Rose tore something in their bodies... Lin was out during the playoffs because of a bruise. Freakin wade had his leg drained and played in the finals game and produced. Tony parker played game 4 against the warriors with a bruise and produced. Chris paul played with a bruise on his shooting hand... It is rediculous that people make up so many excuses for jeremy Lin. He's a scrub... When it is playoffs and you have a 22 million dollar contract you shut up and play. Not only do you just suit up but you produce and contribute in every way you can. We don't need an 8 million dollar cheer leader on the bench. There the RPD that do that better and are not being paid millions. What's next years excuse if he doesn't produce.. "oh it was his first full playoffs because he was bruised last year and played 2 games and injured the year before that". Well as long as those excuses are being made on another team's fan site I don't care. I am hoping for Lin to get traded.
You're comparing Lin to Tony Parker/Kobe/Wade/Rose??? I think that's a bit unrealistic and naive to think that sir.
Hahaha... Don't forget Westbrook, Rondo and Danny Granger. Lin or no Lin, there'll be lots of DOHs, it only takes 0.001 percent of the Lakers fans to come here to hate on Dwight Howard.
I recall that's what he did in game 6, and the likes of you were call him to stay on the bench because the team won the previous two games without him. So, what is it?
