I like this trade because I have watched almost all of pre-season play of lamb. Disappoint by his play. He did not show the brave and attribute to attack the rim. Really lack of confident compare to portland's lillard.

Lord, what a convoluted mess of a column. This quote pretty much sums it up:

"Not piling on to Harden here but... "

    Bad writing, worse analysis.

Im probably alone on this, but what the heck, I think we overpaid. The Thunder losed its leverage and we were so overanxious and gave way too much. I read reports that OKC was asking for the moon initially which was strategic on their part and still ended up with a huge haul than what other teams would have given. Im fine with the players, its the amount of daft picks that we gave that I disagree with

Sounds like a fan trying to make the best of the situation.

They are kidding themselves if they think they are going to get what Harden bought to that team from Lamb or Martin. It simply won't happen.

Also the shots at our franchise and fans was low and proves that this is not a good piece. Keep on about the deal, your franchise is lucky the Blazers drafted Oden instead of Durant...otherwise

I love how now Harden is overvalued...before it was all "Harden will get paid, they'll amnesty Perk before they let Harden go." but now it's "He was overrated, can be replaced. Martin will bring us 20 (worthless first half points) and make us forget about Harden."

I knew there was a lot of bull**** pieces and articles that came along with rumors and speculation but man, there's no word other than bill for what was in the link. Hardens good, we gave up a B rate star and a unproven rookie. Our loss was little

I'm certainly not the biggest fan of this writer. Darnell Mayberry is the guy who called Royce White a head case.

I don't hold his words against him, he did apologize after being crucified online. But it is indicative of the writer's thinking process, his ability to jump to conclusions without prior research, and lack of cognitive organization.

One last thing about Mayberry; he got his start covering the Katrina-displaced Hornets, featuring one of the greatest PGs of all time in Chris Paul. He then covered the hijacked Sonics, a team which already had the nucleus of Durant, Westbrook and Green. He hasn't ever covered a team without a foundational piece already in place, and simply has no idea how difficult it is to actually acquire one of these players. It's like asking Mitt Romney about how to afford college; only instead of being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he started his career with future hall-of-famers...in his mouth.

dallas pick will be a mid 20s
    toronto pick will be 8-12
martin will not fit their system, they already have a guy who stands around the 3 point lane waiting.. his name is kevin durant..
lamb will peak as a solid role player.. no he is not the next tmac..

Presti realized Harden wasn't cool with a paycut, so he went ahead and took the best offer he thought he'd ever fetch for him. I think he should've given that core another crack at a trophy and made a decision next summer, but Presti's track record is among the best, so it's tough to criticize him.

Rather than risk Harden losing value (injury, egos clashing & team success dipping w/ improved competition in the WC) or things getting messy at the bargaining table next summer, he simply did what he felt was inevitable... and got a DH12-worthy (in Houston's eyes -- important, because Morey would've been hot after Harden next summer along w/ PHX and Dallas) package in the process.

I kind of feel bad for OKC. I really like their team (mainly cause of Durant) and this has to gut their fans.

One thing about Lamb that even if he reaches his potential you have to wonder how that will work out.

You'll have three guys who will want to just score score and score some more. Would be interesting, not saying that the Thunder wouldn't want that...but just seems a bad mix to have a PG/SG/SF who will all just want to shoot the ball. Harden was willing to step back and facilitate.

james harden is the #3 overall pick, so you tank and end up with the #3 pick. you would be fortunate to land james harden type in the draft..

the rockets got desperate??!!? please stfu..

id take courtney lee over kevin martin any day of the week.. kmart is the type of guy you watch and before you know it youre saying "wtf he has 25 points" but your team is down by 10.. to think he can do what harden did for okc is ridiculous.. hes not gonna quietly rack up 25-30 points for these guys with westbrook pounding the ball into the floor and kevin durant posting up 5 feet behind the 3 point line..

I think it's a win-win for both OKC and Houston. It's not like every trade is a zero sum game where one team wins and another team loses. OKC got the financial relief it needs while getting a veteran scorer, a lottery prospect and multiple draft picks. Houston got the potential all-star/franchise player they could build on. I agree we pay a little too much for Harden but it's rare to get a young top SG who still has a lot of upside. Hopefully Harden can step up his game and become the best SG in the NBA in 2-3 years when Kobe and DWade are well past their prime.

This is exactly how I feel. I will say I don't think harden will be a consistent all star and I do have a problem with his settling for bench duty, but its cool. Like you stated, its win-win for both teams. Even if harden turns to be good, its only a 4 yr deal. Ok city got the pics, young player, and the vet who plays well when he's not asked to lead a team.

What kool-aid is that writer drinking?

Anyone who's watched OKC knows Harden is an integral part of their attack. Westbrook is mercurial. And Durant can be contained at times. Harden was their energy guy and I'm just learning how efficient offensively he is. It can cripple them long-term this season as Durant and Westbrook have to work overtime to cover the loss.

OKC needs to change the way they run the 2nd unit offense in order to benefit from KMart.

After reading some Thunder forums, I'm convinced their fanbase does.not.understand basketball.

It's interesting to watch the local media shill for their teams whether it be NY with Lin Spin or OK with Harden Spin. I hate the trade, but that guy was trying a little too hard to calm down Thunder fans.

Don't make it look so obvious, dude. Don't make it look so obvious.
