I would do this trade but i rather give up Landry than Scola. Scola is a bulldog and he IS $$ when it comes to pressure games like Playoffs!! You can not teach pressure.....

landry is as close to untouchable as anybody on this roster. outside of yao, landry would be the last guy morey would trade right now.

young, inside/outside game, athletic, great finisher, clutch, hit fts, potential 20+ ppg scorer... so no.

But, a playmaker is EXACTLY what we need. It's not like you plug in Kevin Martin and add 20 points to your scoring average, he's going to take shots away from others (and not just Ariza ;) ). He would give a good boost to the offense but the D would dip as well.

The deal for Jermaine O'neal is much better, imo...and not just for this season. We have a legit scorer, his name is Yao Ming.

But they're obviously not going to stay under the minimum under any such scenario. In theory, they could just go out and sign and/or trade for whoever they want. Right?

In any event, it gives them a chance to get rid of some of their bad contracts from previous years and get new guys they could acquire under their own terms.

we do need that, but who are we going to get? all-around playmakers are called "superstars." they don't just fall from trees. a healthy tmac is as close to a star playmaker as we're going to get, but he's not going to be here next year.

what we need to do is plug in holes and just ride the yao train. i don't think that's a good idea but the team apparently is going to ride yao until he retires.

We've gambled on guys being able to stay healthy and lost. Martin's great, but he's built like a stick and is one of the most injured players in the league. I wouldn't commit big money to him.

You plug in holes with mid levels, small contracts, and shrewd transactions. That's what Morey has been doing thus far. You don't tack on huge long term contracts for a role player.

Wasn't it speculated that Morey shot this deal down earlier this year?

The only thing reported was the Sacramentoo Bee claiming the Rockets called offering T-Mac for Martin at the trade deadline but the Kings were not interested in such a deal.

sure! lets trade a guy whose always injured and is the last year of a contract for another dude that's always injured and is ONLY a ONE dimensional player who has an additional 3 years left after this year.

Kev Mart would really blossom under Rick's offense...

Thanks, Worzel...I really thought it was the other way around, and this season instead of last.

Basically, when comparing Morey's previous acquisitions and Kevin Martin in which one of these is not like the other I would choose Martin every time (because he's painfully one dimensional). He just doesn't seem to match up with what Morey values.

    Hell nooooooooooooooo!

I'd almoast rather trade for Curry.

Anyone who watched Kings w and w/o Martin would know. When he's playing, everybody is just standing and waiting what he would do. Sure he's good, but it means killing Rockets current game.

Please Santa, don't listen to the guys who know squat..

Whats great about KMart is that he loves to play off the ball, which definitely wouldn't cause any trouble to our offense and wouldn't scramble it!

With all the people calling K-Mart one-dimensional you would think we start five Gary Payton's.

At some point people on this forum started hating on guys who were one dimensional even if that one dimension was the one that allowed them to score the ball at a rapid and efficient rate.

Locked in at $10-13M per year and for a guy that Adelman has previously coached and gotten along with well, no less.
