My prediction is the same as last series Rockets in 5. If Rubio doesn’t play it could be a sweep. These guys simply can’t score with us. One big quarter along with our d and they’re done.
This is the easiest playoffs Harden and the Rockets will ever play in. The Wolves had good young players, but their coaching scheme was bad. The Rockets only played like 4-5 good quarters in the entire series, and they still won in 5 games. Now the Rockets will play the Jazz, another team they went 4-0 against during the regular season. Ricky Rubio won't play the first few games and their best players are a rookie, French Capela, and Joe Ingles. Even if the Rockets play at the same level as they did against the Wovles, this should only be a 5 game series max. Then the Rockets will play GSW in the WCF, with homecourt, all the confidence and hunger in the world. Curry will be 80% at best. The Warriors have nothing to prove either, and their bench is not good. Then the Rockets will play either the Raptors who barely beat the Wizards, the Celtics without Kyrie, LeBron and no one else, or the 76ers who would cause a little trouble (Rockets lost to the Sixers at home, and then beat them at the buzzer in Philly). The Rockets didn't have to play the Thunder, Spurs, Blazers, or LeBron + Kyrie There are no excuses. If they don't win it this year, it'll never happen.
Thank you! I haven't read all of the thread, but when I saw the title and read the OP, my first thought was, "Bad juju!!" We need to be humble, not cocky, in my opinion, in order to generate a vibe that will bring victory in the next round for our heroes and for all the rest of us, the fans who care so much for our team. topfive is a lucky guy to have a chick of your obvious intelligence and good taste. No wonder he's such a cocky fellow. How he could be that lucky, considering this OP, is a mystery, but life does work in wondrous ways.
I'm re-watching the game Rockets played against Utah with Ryno, Capela, and EG all out because of injury. TARIK BLACK WAS STARTING AT CENTER. Utah just came off an 11 game win streak, playing the best defense in the league, they had all their players available, the Rockets still won the game on the road. goodness gracious.
Insecure Rockets fans who have only seen failure in their tenure as Rockets fans We lost to the Jazz the last 3 times in the playoffs , but those were different teams Jazz don't have Rubio , so they are short handed Pure fans are supremely confident
This Jazz team has a lack of Offense, it was enough for OKC but still. If Gobert was actually a perennial 20 pt scorer, that would be much different. What makes this Jazz team formidable is that they play as a cohesive, defensive unit but they can't stop the Warrior or Rockets. They have a rookie who is their main Offense. Admittedly, a very good rookie. The older Jazz playoff teams were good on Offense while being decent on D. Deron Williams plus Boozer, Okur. Stock and Mailman. One of the best duos in history. All good jump shooters.
Was never worried about this series. Rockets handled the Jazz all season regardless of each team's injuries. Now, wth Rubio out, we should sweep. The big worry is next round. We have a chance, but Warriors will and should be favored as they have the talent and experience. If I were betting, I'd bet against the Rockets.
Good post, except Warriors will and should be favored. If we lose, our chances are likely better with LeBron next season.
