If the team can't improve through a trade then you do nothing. You don't make a trade just to make a trade. You may be right, the correct thing to do is probably to do nothing. I would still like to see the rockets get an athletic shotblocker if they do keep the current core intact. Right now the rockets look like a tough out to maybe winning a first round series all depending on who they get matched up with and team health. But a championship with T-Mac will never ever happen.
My thoughts exactly. This team won't be able to compete for a title this year with OR without a trade. So the best thing to do is wait till next year, when T-Mac's $20M expiring contract will be a valuable trade asset, or just let the damn thing expire.
Or wait for an offer that you can't refuse ie.(wait for a GM to panick and make a mistake in your favor). The rockets still have one of the most talented teams in the league without question and no matter what anybody may think none of the top 4 teams in the west would want to play them in the 1st round of the playoffs.
