At this point it will take a miracle to move Artest or Grady. Both have so severely lowered their values that they can't be moved. What playoff team is going to give up anything of any value to get them. A non playoff team wouldn't want their salaries. Artest has the ability to walk after this season, why would you give up a good player for a 3 month rental? Grady, well, everything that can be said about him was shown when he blocked his own dunk on the rim tonight.
morey,If there is no trade this season!!!! Rockets will suffer for 2 years!!!!! God knows 2010, which superstar we can get!!!! and how much we lost becuase your team is suffering and losing courages every day!!!!
what about this, Rockets trade: Scola, Battier and alston Raptors trade: Chris Bosh Money works! Subsequently rockets trade: Ron Artest Bulls trade: Kirk Heinrich! It would free up more minutes for wafer which seems to be improving everyday! or if you wanted start brooks at point and have heinrich 2 guard Heinrich/brooks/head Wafer/barry/head Tmac/Wafer Bosh/Landry/hayes Yao/mutumbo/dorsey Wafer is a yound guy if needed he can play big time mins. which this season he has been steller
At least we know the can play some offense! Also been looking at this one Rockets trade:Artest, Head Wolves trade: Miller and 2nd round pick
This team's roster is a mess. The pieces don't fit and the 2010 free agent fantasies will make it tough to unload certain players, because their contracts run past that.
Come on, just because the numbers add up, doesn't mean the other teams are willing to take our trash. People come up with these justifications why the other team would do the trade but it's clearly scewed towards the Rockets benefit. Let's be realistic, Tmac is going nowhere this year. He is (NOT) an expiring contract this year, and his value is at an all-time low. Trading Ron Artest may be an option because he is a free agent next season and he's not a restricted free agent. However, I don't think Ron is the main problem right now. People keep saying that we should trade Rafer Alston. Well, I agree that our point guard position is weak but what team in their right mind would trade a good poing guard to us for a bad point guard in return? My guess is that Luther will be gone.
I agree Scola is a great trade asset. I really hope he doesn't get involved in the trade unless the trade is tremendously beneficial. Honestly though, our power-forward position may not be the best but it's more than sufficient. You have to give Morey credit for that at least; we have a solid position between Scola and Landry for around 6 million.
the scola acquisition is a typical piece of work by morey, and he deserves credit for it. i just want to point out that it did come with other contracts we had to swallow, though.
So why would a team give up its franchise player for three 30+ average to below average players? This kind of dumb **** wouldn't even work in 2k9.
They do this because Bosh is out, he already stated he was gonna walk. So now if your gm and your franchise player already told you he is out.....HMMM....Trade him and get some kinda value! Scola Would be the centerpeice to what they want. International players! Package him and Battier, great trole player and D with a season Vet in rafer alston to play his natural position in backup. You add alot of depth to you team if your toronto. You still tank the season so you got a good draft pick!
rafer has not been playing THAT BAD, his shooting started getting better, especially when he takes a few steps inside and starts with a midrange jumper. he just doesn't make flashy plays or light up the scoreboard, so you people think he stinks, he runs the offense how we want it to be ran for our starters, half court and methodical, when the ball is in his hands at least. we're just not moving the ball enough after it leaves his hands or we just arent making our shots. brooks doesn't shoot that well either. look at their stats man, he shoots .002 better from behind the arc and you are fired up that he should be starting? rafer plays better defense, rebounds better, and is a smarter vet. you don't always start your best scorers, you have to have a good unit and rafer is a good floor general. i am kinda for starting chuck hayes, the defense sets the tone. when we score alot, the other team is scoring alot, we need to set the tone with defense like we did every year before this.
If you think about it, is it really possible to "do nothing"? I'm not sure about you guys, but I've been doing "something" every minute of my life. I think most of us have. I guess that's why we're not qualified to run an NBA franchise?
