uh, because the Rockets won two championships, made the playoffs almost every year with the Dream. uh, he was a local product (University of Houston).

people usually draft a big man over a guard. many reasons.

I like most Rockets fans are more than satisified with what Hakeem brought to the Rockets.

We'll see if Mario is a good choice. We don't know yet. He led the Texans to a victory today and 4 more wins than last year despite playing with an injured foot and dealing with a horrible offense.

Mario Williams will never have the impact that Hakeem did for the Rockets.
Sorry, its not even a slap on the Texans organization, there's no way he can even come close. Even Reggie White didn't do for the Eagles or Packers that the Hakeem did for the Rockets. if the Bulls had #1, it was NO QUESTION that Dream would be #1.

Wrong. If Mario is like Reggie White and sets all kids of sack records, becomes one of the best DE's ever, and leads the Texans to 2 Super Bowl victories he will have as big an impact. Football is bigger than basketball here. 2 Super Bowl victories would be massive.

Hakeem took the Rockets to the NBA Finals in his 2nd year.
You think Mario can do that?
Hakeem was a 12 time all star,
you think Mario will be a 12 time pro-bowler?
    Hakeem was MVP,
    will Mario win MVP?

unless there's some Joe Montana like player the Texans get, no one will replace Hakeem as Houston's #1 hero.

yet, you act like Vince Young has already gone to as many pro bowls and won as many SB as Joe Montana. if you're gonna make comparisons, at least do it fairly. i'm really going out now.

what part of this video do you not understand?
How on earth would you EVEN think that Mario Williams would compare to being the "HAKEEM" of the draft.

There was no one calling the Rockets idiots for drafting Hakeem. Mario Williams has done NOTHING REMOTELY CLOSE to say he's one of the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

I cant believe any Rocket fans here arent outraged as me. You Texan fans are just in some wierd BIZARRO world if you can compare people drafting Mario Williams to HAKEEM.

Wait? So now we're comparing Hakeem to Mario? What? Are the Titans going to the Super Bowl next year? I'm Confused. You know, we should just stop comparing basketball and football. It's much easier to make an impact in basketball.

He's going to win Rookie of the Year. He's shown some comeback and big play ability. Yes he's shown some stuff. He took a crap team to 8-8.

I dont know if VY would be Hakeem, but I'm responding to what you think about Mario Williams. Did I compare VY to Dream? no, you compared Mario Williams to Hakeem. so dont try to escape your lunatic analogy.

so you think the Texans made the best choice in the draft with Williams? or did you just pull the Hakeem draft to erk us Rockets fans about Vince Young.

And really, neither has VY over the course of a little less than a full season. Despite the success of the Titans, he still look like a mediocre QB with legs a la Vick. Don't talk about VY being a great QB until he can complete 60% of his passes.

Mario can be a 12 time pro-bowler, yes. The NFL MVP award is biased to QBs and RBs. Really, it seems to me that YOU are the hater. All you do is hate on the Texans and Mario in all these posts.

The Texans won this week, the Titans lost. Vince had 3 turnovers. Quit hating!!!

    cannon,
    i didnt start the comparison.

someone here thinks that Texans drafting Williams is like the Rockets drafting Dream and skipping on Jordan.

    no its not complicated.

    1. nfl draft- analyst were shocked that Mario Williams was drafted over Bush, Young etc
nba draft- Dream #1 was UNANIMOUS, no one thought a 2 guard would be the GOAT.

    2. saying Williams #1=Hakeem #1 is lunacy knowing that Hakeem is one of the greatest of all time

    3. saying Rocket fans regret not drafting Jordan is wrong. Rocket fans are very content that they won 2 championships. cause those 2 championships made them very happy.

    4. Hakeem was a local product (U of H), Mario was from NC State

I could easily write thousands of pages on this if you want.

er, no one is saying that. But if Williams becomes Reggie White and leads Houston to 2 Super Bowls it will be like that.

I dont hate Mario Williams, he doesnt cause the Texans to lose.
    Im a VY defender.

I went to my 1st Texans game this year. it was against the Titans. that was a great and exciting game! lots of people in the stands cheering for their favorite player. it was great!

why would I hate on the Texans? they are a bitter rival team or are they just a bad team?

This isnt Rocket vs Jazz by any stretch of the imagination.
