Some of you are just full of it. The lack of experience excuse is getting really really old quick. There's no accoutablity. Last year, there were the injuries to blame on. This year, there's the inexperience. What's it going to be next year? We have FULL control how WE play. Instead of blaming our bad performance on things we can't control, some of us should try looking at ourselves in the mirror. The last couple of playoff spots are there for us to grab, but we didn't take it because we didn't want it enough. PERIOD.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Their system is way different from ours. I agree. Their coach isn't that great to me either. It has to do with attitudes.... And Marbury is a better passer or settupper than Steve. But it's pretty sad that we couldn't use Yao more....easily....and simply....like Amare or Bo Outlaw or Jake Voshkul. Hmm...they don't have that many veterans. Only Hardaway... Well I guess they do have more experience. But bad excuse. It was only a 1 game difference. And that 1 game was the 1 loss to the Cavs in Cleveland. And the blowout we suffered against the Heat in Houston. And all the other sad games.
I honestly believe steve is better than marbury by a long shot. I do however believe that marbury has better and smarter players around him. I'm definitely up for trading anyone on the team except for steve and yao. I think glen should stay with us though. I really like the way he's been coming off the bench and playing. I'm also going to suck it up and say Cato has been doing pretty good as of late. Watching the Suns play against the Spurs in the first round I saw a great time on the rise. smarter shot selection from the small guard. and great cohesiveness. When they ran a break THEY RAN! They complete what they started.
How about their veteran players Marion and Marbury outplayed ours ,Francis and Mobley and Johnson had his team ready to play when it counted most. They lost Hardaway for over 30 games, but still plugged away. They used Voskul at center and Bo Outlaw and Scott Williams as bench players along with a 2nd yr player in Johnson and a rookie in Jacobson. Bottomline is Marbury stepped up and Francis and company stepped down.
We run alot of pick and rolls also but Steve doesn't know how to use a pick at all. If you watch closely, its pretty much the same offense except we go to the low post once in while. They just execute it much better than we do, which makes it look different.
Better, yes. Only because they stepped up in the last month, not because they're anymore talented than Houston, because they're not. But enough with the lack of experience excuse! The Suns had just as many young players as the Rockets. Mobley's older than Marbury. Francis is older than Marion. And Yao is older than Amare. Joe Johnson is 21 years old. The two Jakes are 23 and 25. Casey Jacobsen is a 21 year-old rookie. The veteran leader on the Suns is Penny and he missed a good chunk of the season. Guys like Scott Williams and Tom Gugliotta have a lot of experience, but were not key players for the Suns by any stretch. Definitely not as much as Rice and Taylor were for Houston. Look, I've accepted the fact that you'll make any and every excuse for Rudy and the Rockets failing to make the playoffs this past season, but at least stick with ones that you can back up.
Their best player has 3 more years of experience than the Rockets' best player. That's the major difference. What if 3 years from now, Francis was leading a team to the playoffs for the first time? Then there would actually be something to complain about. The Rockets' best players have less experience than the best players on every team ahead of them. This is a fact that will never go away, no matter how much people want to ignore it. Marbury went to the playoffs as a rookie, but Gugliotta and Garnett were the best players on that team, and they were also only 40-42.
Yao got outplayed? Admittedly the last month was not his best month, but care to compare the mins/game Yao played to what Amare played since LS took over? Besides, if Amare won the ROY cuz he outplayed Yao in the last month, care to examine how many months this season (other than Jan) that Amare got outplayed? What you said makes no sense at all.
Granted, the stats do have Amare playing better, but not by much. Over the last 8 games of the season: Amare vs. Yao Pts: (13.9 vs. 11.8) Blocks (1.9 vs. 1.6) Steal (1.4 vs. 0.8) Assist (2.3 vs. 0.9) Reb (6.8 vs. 8.6) FT% (63.5% vs. 79.3%) FG% (52% vs. 42%) So Amare outscored Yao, but Yao outrebounded him. Amare had more blocks, Yao more assists. Amare shot better from the field, Yao better from the stripe. As I said before, Amare won the ROY because the Suns made the playoffs, not the other way around.
Not more talented, are you sure? Marbury=Francis Yao only slightly better than Amare right now Then they have Marion who's also an all star, they have Penny Hardaway, and they have Bo Outlaw who outplays any the Rockets' fours. Who would you rather have, Penny or Mobley??? Who would you rather have, Marion or Posey???
Exactly! The Suns have more talent on their team. The Rockets might be "deeper" but the Suns have better individual talent. And that is really what matters the most. It is not "quantity" but "quality"! Which futher proves my theory that the Rockets need a "Third Star" added to our team to compete for a championship down the road. The Suns have Marbury, Marion and Stoudamire, the Rockets have Yao and Francis. We need one more star type player and then fill the roster full of role players.
Well we do have Cato and Taylor who are paid like stars, Mobley who he and some Rox fans as well think is a star and Griffin who many Rox fans consider is a future star.
Actually, even though you are being sarcastic, if the Rockets can get 15 points and 9 boards out of Eddie, this team will be set.
