Part of my lobbying for Von getting more minutes is so that Shane will get fewer minutes. IMO his value as a starter was rapidly decreasing until he recently starting hitting open jumpers again.

I can see that, especially with how he was shooting a few weeks ago.

I want to know what James White did in practice to get all that money...:)

Simply put: Wafer = marginal rotation player.

If you put Artest and Yao on the floor by themselves, each is going to take an inefficient number of shots. Having them there together forces them to share the ball. Imagine if you had Artest and four subs, he would be trying to put the entire offense on himself and chucking up stupid shots. It's not as bad with Yao, but giving the ball to him too much results in a s#itload of turnovers.

It's good to have both on the floor at once in order to make the offense more efficient.

Sam that is some good stuff, my question for those stats would be is that just Artest and Yao only, and Wafer and Yao only?

Because to me, you would need 5 man stats as the other players have a drastic affect on the numbers as well.

For instance, if Wafer is playing with the 2nd unit and Yao, he is not getting the same quality of play as say Artest is with the first unit and Yao....

Which to me would make Wafer's stats even more impressive.....

So, is there a way to compare straight apples to apples, with just switching out Ron and Wafer?

For instance is there some that compare say:

    Battier
    Scola
    Yao
    Brooks

    And either Wafer and Artest?

Again, great post.....and I am honestly curious.

    Thanks,

    DD

I think of wafer like azuibukke , jr smith and to a degree a smaller capt jackson in gsw. He's a good player that's getting better. He's not the same difference maker as ron. I think he's a great bench player that plays full tilt which is great. The rox are trying to get more athletic after yrs of not looking at those type of players. Adelman probably wishes he wouldve factored g. wallace in more in sacramento.

I don't want him to start, but he is such a weapon out there.....so much more effecient, especially when teams front Yao..he really is the only player that can consistently take advantage of that....
