I HATE Andersen. The guy is a complete clown and an embarassment to basketball players. This guy didn't even start for the Hornets and some expect him to start for us?

The truth is that we can probably pickup a pretty good PF. We have a lot of expiring contracts if we need to do a S&T or a straight up trade.

    SAY NO TO ANDERSEN!!

If we are looking for a starting PF then I would agree Anderson would not fill the bill. And looking down the free agency lists I don't see anyone we can get for MLE at PF.

The only player I see available with a shot at being a starting PF in the draft is Wayne Simien. I would say there is a 50% chance he could become a quality starting PF on a championship team.

Marcus Fizer and Anderson would be a quality backup PFs.

I don't really see anyone else available currently that we can afford.

If there is someone else then name them. Otherwise Anderson makes some sense.

    Swift
    SAR
    Walker
    Donyell

are all guys available as UFA that will probably be had in the MLE range. If we strike out on all those, then add a quality wing player(Simmons maybe?) with the MLE and work for some trades for a starting pf or at least a great backup pf.

Chris Anderson for half the MLE is a waste of half the MLE.

I agree with this assesstment, I also feel that the incident in Detroit was not his fault. If anyone threw a cup at me, that fool better be ready to throw down. Looking at that play before that incident, you can see that Artest was already trying to walk away.

Anderson is OK. He is fast and a labor man. Not good for starters in other team but might be the perfect piece of Rox.
Kwame Brown is too slow. With Yao in center you always want someone smaller and faster.

Anderson is at least an upgrade of Bowen at the 4, he can split the minuets with Juwan; maybe 24min. each no matter who starts or Juwan30/Anderson18. again, you guys can keep dreaming about CD works his magic to sign SAR, Swift, Walker, ... for the MLE or trade our gabbage for Chandler but I'm telling you the only possibility to use our MLE on a quality pf might be Donyell Marshall and I like Marshall too but Andersson could be had for maybe only HALF of the MLE. the other half MLE might bring us another valueable backcourt help like Raja Bell.

    gucci888,
the truth is even the Hornets are better than us at the 4 spot. Anderson can't start on the Hornets team so what? Chris Wilcox can't even start for the Clips would you like to have him on our team? i'd say yes and probably i'll put him ahead of Juwan because it's a better compliment to Yao. and Anderson could be had for a cheap price without losing any talent.

I dont want a PowerForward who can shoot a 3 or even heck a J... I need a PowerForward who can Be a real muscle in the paint grab rebounds not only defensive but offensive.. Who can get points by doing put backs into the bucket...

    Hence a Dennis Rodman Type...

People why do you want a Powerfoward who can shoot???

If he shoots who's going to get the rebounds?

Anderson is not a starter and would be great off the bench for limited minutes (to give the #1 a rest).

He doesn't suck though (IMO). I like his effort.

I don't see how Andersen would be a better compliment to Yao than Juwan. Andersen cannot shoot for his life, the Rockets offense really started rolling when JH starting hitting that midrange jumper w/ consitency.

The defense will always "cheat" and leave their man to guard Yao in the post. They won't hesitate to leave Andersen w/ the open jumper just like they did with Bowen, and Bowen is a much better shooter than Andersen.

We need a PF that can hit the mid range jumper because it opens up a whole new dimension to the offense.

Sacrificing one function for another brings a cancelling effect. I want a rebounding/shotblocking pf too, but plz let him be someone with a game away from the basket. Also, Anderson will spend much time playing with Deke. A bad combination on offense.

Good thing the dunk contest matters a lot in the regular season.

And do we REALLY need a scoring PF? Answer that.
