To put it mildly…..heart is definitely crushed. Disappointing offseason with the exception of getting a real coach. We needed CWood’s size and 3 point shooting.
Wood averages 37% from 3 on high volume so Lebron will egg him to shoot not scream at him for shooting.
I have two hopes and dreams for CWood in LA, unfortunately the dreams contradict: #1. I hope Lebron doesn't leave any oxygen for CWood's bad attitude and he finally finds his footing as a contributor cause the guy has talent. #2. I hope CWood is right in the middle of another collapsed season for the Lakers. Any time the Lakers miss the playoffs, an angle gets it's wings. I wish CWood well, not really.
Whoever left Rockets recently (2022 onwards) either signed for minimum or got no contract: Wall, Gordon, Wood, Schroeder, Bruno, Matthews,... Only Schroeder is a success story, We should offered him 8M/Y and kept him instead of paying crazy money to FVV. Another sad story. China is a good destination for CWood. He gets closer there when he moves to California.
Wood isn't as bad as people here say, he is just a very good offensive player who struggles on defense. The Lakers will be happy at that price. DD
He is a selfish offensive player (hurts his team offensively) who does not play defense (struggle is being generous). The Lakers will be happy at that price because it will be easy to move him if he starts pouting. There is no denying that Christian Wood is a talented player, the problem is that his demeanor has not changed. He could of had a huge bump in pay this offseason, but instead he chose to keep being the selfish Christian Wood we saw here during his Rockets tenure.
Wood being promised a big role is bad news for the Lakers. He'll sulk when his mins gets cut due to his lack of d and selfish play
"Lebron will help Westbrick" How'd that turn out Lebron will help Wood now. Nah, there's no helping when you just suck and are a dumb player who's soft.
I guess OP hasn't learned from arguing that we should bring back Kenneth Faried for a year and a half. He can see that players have talent but doesn't/can't/won't understand why IQ matters. If you're an above average scorer who can't play within a team and has low percentile defense the NBA isn't for you. The Lakers now have tons of guys who are C size and too soft to play C. Good luck.
Not sure I've ever read an official statement that contained the word "Fasure." And I use the word "word" lightly.
He can be selfish, but would like to think Udoka is good enough to bring out his talents as a backup. Sengun and Jock are fine, but he would’ve brought a nice tall backup who is a capable starter for not much money….much better than the other remaining backup center options. Sengun is not talll, so having a couple bigs is a good move.
