No hate for the Barry's - too much family loyalty there.

Honestly, you guys should watch one game where Sean Elliot is doing the color commentary. Not only will you hate the Spurs, but you'll want the entire city of San Antonio washed off the Earth. He is BY FAR the biggest Homer you will ever hear. It's over-the-top ridiculous and flat-out annoying how biased he is. I understand he works for the Spurs, but come on.....Duncan does commit fouls every now and then, Ginobili isn't the end-all be-all of basketball, and Tony Parker isn't even the best PG in our division let alone in the entire NBA.

"Rafer Alston is a dark horse All-Star candidate."

"Juwan Howard runs like a gazelle."

    We're not homer at all.

Yeah, I would. Though lebron doesn't have to be a spurm for me to dislike him.

We somehow managed to grudgingly accept Patrick Ewing, Antoine Carr, and other hated Rockets enemies. I don't know why Barry would be a problem.

I actually hate the Spurs more than the Jazz. And nearly as much as the Mavs. But as others have said, Barry isn't one of the Spurs dirty/whiney players so I've never really hated him.

I think a better way of writing that would have been:

Alright, Brent Barry is the prototypical nice, team player plus, he's a Barry; but I expected at least a little bit of hate. He was a Spur, for God's sakes...

It almost seems like you are listing "white guy" as a positive attribute. I doubt that was your intention.

Why does it matter if he is Black or White? Is it an exception to like a guy because he is white????

I was wondering why nobody said anything. I kept rereading it looking for a different interpretation. I don't mean to be an ass, it just didn't seem like the best choice of words. I don't think their was any bad intentions though.

It's not a positive attribute? Is it negative?

Its unnecessary. In places like YouTube, people state the race of the men and women in the video just to get more audience, but cheaply...... Of course this does not apply to the OP.

Neither, it's a neutral attribute, like the color of his hair. At least, that's the way I see it.

    TmacBarry for 3??? It's good!!!

Once that happens, any animosity I may have felt for him will be drowned out by the cheers of the Houston loyal.

you know what.. I think it was also cause he signed with us not them... making it like sticking it to the Spurs again.

Not quite on the level with getting Scola, but along the same lines
