There is no trade that will make this team a contender THIS season.

So making a trader sooner than later means nothing. It won't help us win jack squat. First versus second round exit maybe. Who cares.

If you want a contender, than you have to wait. You will have to wait until Yao is back strong. That might be next year or the year after.

You will have to be patient. A bad trade now may help us win a few more games but cost us in 2 years when we are re-tooled or have a healthy Yao to make a run.

Loser mentality, remember this was supposed to be a rebuilding year, when it has turned out better so far, you have to take advantage of it.

    quote from the OP
Glancing at it, wouldnt it seem as a sense of urgency to stop the CURRENT leaking?

I didnt read it right. i was rushing at work. He meant dont wait until next year, go ahead and make a deal now cuz there's no upside to this team. Create the upside now. Gotcha

Same thing still applies. Be patient and dont think Morey is being complacent.

You're right but there are trades that can be made this year that will make us contenders next year.

A superstar at $20mil is fine. But not $12mil come off the bench.

I understand all of that. However, you said soon. If you mean 'before the deadline', then I tend to agree. But there is no hurry now. He has all the way into mid-February to weigh his options and position the Rockets to get the best deal available.

So if you're assertion is that we need to make a move before the deadline, then I agree. If it's that we need to make the trade now because we've been struggling late in games lately, then I strongly disagree. And if it's the former, you should have made that more clear in your original post. "Soon" is very vague.

we dont know even Yao's condition once he's ready to go, it's too early to know if we can rely on him or not.

they would be smart to WAIT and see first...yao's surgery REALIGNED his joint, if succesful he should be fine much like Big Z was/is.

Any team in the league needs a "change" if they're without their top guns for a whole year. The options are to panic or wait it out. you sir, are PANICKING.

Wow, really? Just because the car is running slightly better than you think, doesn't mean you should spend all your money fixing it, when the newer model will be released in a few months.

We were 20-13 a few games back, and now we're 22-17. Every team has ups and downs.

Just wait until the trade deadline. I'm sure Morey knows what he's doing.

Daryl Morey will make it happen, hopefully it's great.

Me, i think the iggy trade is more convenient for both teams that's if Philly keeps loosing. Might just be time to start that franchise from the draft. Iggy isn't a prooven complete sometimes lacks in lol places. The doods avg. 18pts 6rbs. 5asst. He's 25, he has the potential to give you 25 7 7 he's been the face of a really ugly franchise for almost 5yrs the other A.I. Left to much behind and coming back didn't seem like such a good idea with the injurie to him. Dalembert is that Height we really need he's not a great nor a poor shot blocker. He changes shots just like the big wall. And we will have him tied another season to have him coming in to help Yao. That's looks pretty good the height is what the solution is even tho Daryl morey said it's kit tht big of a del. But It is we want to take the lakers In 7 again? Bring the big D and iggy to the city of Houston, big D cam actually stop bynum from having one of those nights that he had against us. Too easy. Plain and simple. This is a 7'0 bout to turn 30, iggy 26? I believe. He's an underrated defender, and a great explosive force like we need.

Iggy and Dalembert certainly can help Rockets now. But what about after this season?

Rockets get Iggy and Dalembert, they'd reach the LT without signing Scola and Lowry. that means both could be lost for Dalembert's 12mil wasted money.

you can always make a nice trade the following year for his expiring contract. Bring in a couple players for him. Scola is a good hard nosed player but fact is he's 31 he has 3 good years left. Lowry will be the main part, I'm sure rockets could figure something out but I still like the deal.

    In morey we trust.

No, the fact is that Scola is 29.

Morey won't do that deal. Let Scola and Lowry, 2 very tradable assets and proven players walk for free is never gonna happen under Morey.

Pardon me, I exaggerated a year..
He'll turn 30 in April. Still give him a good 3years and if he stays with the rockets how would he do in a different team.

I don't see Iggy/Dalembert trade happening unless Philly throwing some really nice piece like #1 picks etc.

Keep both Scola and Lowry and sigh a MLE player is much better than keep Iggy + Dalembert(who will not get much playing time once Yao comes back) and let both Scola an Lowry walk.

No, you were off two years, but pardon accepted. In my opinion, Scola has a good 5 years left, especially considering how he plays and his proven durability. I hope we keep him. If we don't, some team is going to get a damn good player.
