Problem is Brooks went under the lime light. Everyone knows he can ball, so they double team him, defend him well, setup traps for him. Best if he comes off the bench and score with Landry.
Wow. It’s really freaking early in the season to be calling for a change in the point guard position. Especially when the team has been playing as well as it has. We have lost games to, Portland, LA and Dallas!!! We are going to lose games to the top teams in the west people come on!! To the OP’s Points, which are garbage: Aaron does draw fouls, not as many as Lowery but he is a better outside shooter, which leads to him looking for his shot more. They are the same height so don’t give me that Aaron can’t see over the defender to make a pass BS. Attacking the basket?! Brooks is not significantly less effective as a finisher than Lowery. They are both good point guards, either could be a starter, but our offense will suffer with either Brooks or Lowery starting if no one is hitting shots. Comparing their effectiveness playing with Yao and/or Tracy is not relevant to the current situation. We don’t know how Tracy will perform when/if he gets back. He could be the ball stopper and destroyer of our offense, a slightly better version of Ariza, or he could come back as a dominant offensive weapon. I think we will be lucky if he comes back as a slightly better version of Ariza.
landry has been our most consistent player. but i don't see landry getting doubled that often. AB gets some doubles from way outside the 3pt line.
lowry more minutes than brooks this game, whats more adelman seems to be losing trust in brooks and more trust in lowry, brooks is not an automatic to close out games anymore, it seems he only closes games where he plays well.
you just said it yourself...Who ever is playing better is gonna get to close out the 4th....In atl, they both were on the court...If brooks is playing better he deserve to close out, if lowry is playing better, then lowry deserves it....If they both are playing good, take out ariza or shane....
Luis gets doubled more than Landry, but Carl deserves to start now. There will be times when we will need them together as well, despite the defensive drop off.
Carl is not very good on defense....he is great where he is at right now..... If he ever commits as much focus on defense as he does on offense he will be a starter. Right now, he isn't. DD
if lowry had a jumper and better IQ he would be starting, but as of right now lowry is a gritty up tempo player who complements landry off the bench. brooks is gonna keep the job based on his outside shot alone. one thing that bugs me about lowry is he will pick up the ball before he decides to pass or shoot then he just gets stuck (ala steve franchise) if he improved his iq and held his dribble longer then we can start talking about starting lowry.
Scola is right there with him. I say he's a little ahead of Landry because he's been more consistent on both ends of the floor. I think (hope that) Ariza could be the best on the team but only time well tell.
I agree he isn't committed on defense, but Luis isn't doing well defensively this year either. Last season,Scola was scrapping and hustling.
Our PG tandem is working well already. Brooks fits the need for the starting lineup, while Lowry is the engine that's making our second unit guys look so good. Then depending on matchups and need, Adelman has the choice of going with either or both down the stretch. It's really a great system, so why the need to change it?
Luis. I want to see how Carl will respond as a starter,if he struggles than Luis can come back as a starter. Luis is playing better over the last few games but I worry when he has to face quicker teams with length, and solid defense. I admit I like Luis a LOT,but I would to see if that will help or not.
